I love newbs.

For their first post they list a truck for sale with visibly severe rust and no bona fides.

Then they get ass-hurt when we don't oooh and ahhh over the truck for sale from the guy that no one knows.

How many times does this happen each year? It's got to be at least a dozen.

The membership rolls of d-web are littered with the corpses of newbies who couldn't handle a little hazing. And this time the hazing was primarily constructive.

Sounds like some people need to head back over to Pirate4x4 (Stu454) make you point and move on. I have seen and off roaded with this RR, Trunk runs great. If I had the spare cash I would buy it just to play with.... the engine and upgrades alone are worth way more than the price listed. A little rust never hurt no one. My Disco sadly has rust, but it still plays well.

Hey stu454

Back-Off and let the guy sell his truck. He doesn't need all the smart-ass conments. He just wants to sell it.

Nathan

My initial conments were fairly benign. Fall Out got a little pissy. This is usually the case with newbs when they are called out, however delicately.

As a result, my next conments recounted the usual parabola of the newb whose first post is a FS. It rarely ends well as the newb almost always gets hurt and/or pissed and leaves.

If my conments offended you, I really don't give a damn. If one comes to dweb with the intent to sell something, he had better be ready to take some ribbing. Doubly so if the truck has some claims attached to it and obvious issues in the pics.

You also don't know d-web too well.

I'm a teddy bear compared to some others on here.

If you know the truck, vouch for it instead of whining about my comments.

A little rust? If the truck isn't riddled from ass to nose with rust how about some pics to show that? Two pics; both showing show pretty serious corrosion. That's all we got in the first post.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether they are right, wrong or indifferent.

I agree that the vehicle is nicely priced for the gear/parts it has. But still looks like a rust bucket...

That said... this is not Auto Trader. Of course people will chime in and make comments... It will not be D-Web without it. :)

This is where the problem is. Although the truck might be a good price to someone looking for a RRC with a 4.6, 4.11:1's, locker, etc..., the target audience is going to be very small. The truck itself is a pile of shit. It looks like shit and is rusted to shit. That may not matter to someone looking to cut it up and make a buggy, or looking to rob the parts from it to "build" their own truck. You certainly could not buy these specific parts for $3k. But finding the person looking for these exact parts is going to be hard.

This truck is not worth $3k to the average buyer. It's not worth $3k to the salvage dealer, either. The average buying is not looking for a rusted out pile of shit, and the price is too high for a the salvage man to make any money, especially if he's got to ship the truck home.

This is one of those trucks you either part out yourself, or you say fuck it and take the loss by selling it for $1,500. $3k is a bit excessive as a whole, although it does have some really nice parts on it worth some money. If parted out he could get over $4,500 total. At the right price, the diff's and axles would sell overnight.

I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you. I'm not sure you would win the contest. However, I have been around D-Web a long time. Long before the 2004 date. Most of the older guys know me and we have done business. If you want to pick on me that's fine. I just think it would be better to have a good relationship with the newb, rather than make them mad. They come to D-web for information and advice. This is a discussion board not a ass chewing board. Be nice and try and help.

I always enjoy comments like that.

I usually am nice. If you look at the thread I was trying to be helpful. I didn't up the ante until he assumed the usual newb posture of ass-hurt defensiveness.

For not holding him in my arms and cooing at him telling him that everything was going to be okay, I apologize.

it appears that there has been a lot going on.

feelings not hurt at all there stu, just dont care to waste time with you if you have no cash to put up. i have better things to do with my time.
like i said early on whatever pic anybody wanted i would take and send. the 2 pics were just to show what it is. i have more pics to whoever wants too see them. i am aware of the rust now and when i bought it but really it is a good running truck.

so all that being said if it sells from this web site , i willl make donation to keep the site so you can continue to boost your ego.

have a good day

Matt,

I suppose from now on instead of offering constructive, albeit rough, criticism I should just wetnurse everyone with 'oh, man! What an awesome truck!'.

Noted for future reference.
