Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:
97 Disco.

Problem ? With the driving lamps ON: the right-side rear tail-lamps(cluster on body and in the bumper), dashboard lamps, running light inside headlight, side-marker lights, cigar-ring-lamp, glove-box-lamp, are all out.
All other components that share these circuits are working properly.

Found so far - Fuses inside cab and under the hood, all are good. Power was verified to all fuses. Common grounds were disassembled and reassembled. Binnacle removed, bulbs checked, in fact all bulbs for each failed-component were verified good (visually and with meter).

Where do I turn my focus to next?:banghead:

Yeah electrical problems suck... Haynes manuals have good electrical diagrams. I have one now and I think its more useful then the F*#@ing factory manual I paid 140$ for. Sorry I cant help more...

Well, some smart guys in Jacksonville, Fl, (British 4x4), suggested that I take a good look at the connection for the light switch on the stem. They have seen these partially fault and disable various circuits while others are fine.

I have not pulled apart the column housing yet, but will this weekend. Regardless if this is the culprit or not, there is a lesson here. What I did was dig into the details of the circuits and spent many hours digging around, testing etc… I did not step away and use common sense that anyone, without looking at the first circuit diagram would instinctively recognize,,, and that was the single switch is common to all of these issues. Doahhh!

Anyway, I will pull the connection and look for some signs of shorts. Possibility that this single component is the origin.

Yes, I have a trailer wiring kit but there was no power getting to the kit, so I concluded the issue was upstream, before the kit.

However, great idea guys and I will disassemble it and see what happens.

Will,
the headlight switch, do you mean that switch contained in the Turn-signal stalk that turns lights on/off? If so, that is what I have been pointed to as well to investigate next.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Will, I may be calling you so thanks in advance.
alls4ROVER, "fix it right this time", hell man, I have to pinpoint the problem before I can fix it wrong, then I can follow your advice.

My Disco I light switch failed, so I would check it out first too.

My trailer light control failed on the left side turn signal on both of my discos. The connection is the bottom one. So it must have corrded and caused the relay to fail inside. I soldered new ones in. Don't think they would cause the whole side of the vehicle to not work. That's why I think light switch.

Problem solved... the culprits in this little insane game were: the glovebox switch and the front R marker light. Both were shorting the circuit.
Thanks to all for the replies.
