Sorry, but there is nothing on file. That vin shows a radio code of 1. There is no option to search by radio serial number either.

Last week, I requested a radio code and was given a four digit code...

I pulled the radio and gave the serial number and whaddayaknow, I was given the correct FIVE digit code.

Some folks have more access to the DCS than others. Sometimes I wish I still had such access, then I think about the rest and am glad I'm where I am!

I went in to our local dealership for the code once. The tech came out, pulled the radio out, got the numbers, put it back in, and gave me the code. He then showed me how to enter the code. All for free even!

Like some fool is really going to steal one of these radios anyways.

For the trucks thats its applicable for, your (original) radio code should be printed on every service slip you get from the dealer when/if you take your truck in for work. At least its been on every service slip for any of my Discos and Freelander I had.

Problem is this radio is out of a parts truck that has long since been gone, found the VIN by complete luck on a piece of scratch paper. No paper work left.

So what's this about the serial number? As I was a smart boy and popped a picture of the serial # before I put the radio back in the dash...

I use a sharpie to put the code on every radio i pull and even then I still encourage the customer to buy a new aftermarket radio before i sell them a stock one.

LOL, I also write it on the sunvisor in sharpie!

I use a paint pen to write the code on the radio.

It is handy to be able to tell a client to look on the sunvisor!
