that thing looks retarded....if you are thinking exo just go truggy. i would be up for a defender style roll cage, but it'd need to have reinforcement to the frame and now just the body panels...

i didnt say i was going to build exactly that, i just would want a cage that goes all the way to the chassis. i would go with a defender style cage too.

Just build it and quit talking about it. We need something new to laugh at.

Because most of the people on here just talk about doing stuff like that. If Atlantic British sold a bolt on one I'm sure plenty of people would buy them though. Most people cannot weld, let alone weld a roll cage.

Exo-cages are just stupid looking IMO.

This might interest some of you. http://www.stableenergies.com/products.asp?dept=173

I spoke with them back in October and they said they could get cages. After seeing one in person on a truck being sold I searched and stumbled onto these guys. If you don't mind losing some interior room these things look great and go in really clean. He had the through dash setup which takes away two of the airvents and said it was a bitch to put in. If you have the time and money go for it. Easily the best looking disco I've seen. Of course the other mods and a meticulously maintained truck helped that. I agree, exo looks like shit

Is that very structurally sound with the two main hoops going from front to rear? I've never seen a cage like that before, but I haven't seen that many cages before either. The C pillar also looks like its lacking support. I really like the front section though.

I think something that protected the front fenders and doors would be really useful, but a full exo-cage wouldn't really be practical on a disco, at that point you should have gone truggy/buddy/etc....

I would love something that attached to my front bumper, and essentially ran the lines of my fender, and attatched to a slider.

if you're willing to go exo/inner cage, i'd just as soon cut the top, and put cage with a custom soft top, but try to keep the disco lines in the cage.

In all honesty, I don't think you would.

the external cage on a defender looks great. i think trying to do it to a disco is simply a bad idea. it looks like crap. it always looks like crap. running tubes all over the place on the outside of a vehicle just looks gay.

sure, if you're putting a cage on to protect the driver, thats one thing, but for heaven sakes make it look decent, or build a buggy. but its counter-productive to run gay tubes everywhere to protect your truck. you're ruining the looks of your truck by trying to prevent the looks of your truck from being ruined.
