ARB Install

Usually, I don't post stupid shit like this. But I'm just so damned tickled as to how this switch install came out. It was almost made to go here. Amazing what you can do with a saw and file in a Swiss Army knife.

I think I can use the old fog light switch for the compressor. With a relay, of course.

Your CDL sticker looks like shit. Send me your address, and I'll send you a new one. I'm no ARB fan, but nice install!

That looks good. I put one of those huge awesome red arming cover switches in the spot for my lights. Used a similar technique to get it in there to fit properly. I love it.

if you file it well, id try to trim up the bottom a little bit....if its possible...and why didnt you put the arb on the rear axle? i dont know much about gettin lockers--im too poor right now...but i thought as a rule you put a locker on the rear first, then maybe front second? or do you have a detroit rear already?

Detroit already in the rear. The ARB is replacing a TT.

If you already have the compressor on, and pressure is up, How long does it take to lock in??? And how long to unlock? Will the ARB be able to unlock if you are in a turn already?

I know with the new ARB mini compressor it takes less than a second to activate the locker if the compressor is on...
But its no good for airing up tires...hence a power tank.

Don't have the set-up finished, yet. I will get it done this weekend.

Plan is a 2.5 gallon reserve tank. 100psi. Will also have a connection for the power tank, which will bypass the reserve tank.

I'm using fuel line to case the air line, and I have the HD air line to connect to the diff.

I've also got the HD axles and CV's.

Not sure about lock/unlock times...but from what I've seen, it does not take long. Almost instant.

I've got the pump and wiring installed. Now, I just need to uninstall everything, teflon tape all the connections, maybe paint a few things, and reinstall.

I uses 1/8" fuel line to case the ARB hose. I used a a razor blade to split the hose, and just wrapped it around the blue air hose. At the frame, it mates to the ARB HD air line kit.

I think I will go back and add a pressure regulator in-line with the solenoid switch. That way, if the pump should ever fail I can use my power tank to pressurize the system. Although the power tank has it's own regulator, I rather not chance a f* up and blow out the ARB seals.
