Not too far down the road there's some redneck joint that has Yuengling on their menu - spelled Yueng-ling and under the "imports" list. No joke.

Oh yeah, I've seen Yuengling listed in the import section.

Worst was I once saw Rolling Rock in the import section at a bar, way back in the 90s. Granted it was still made in Old Latrobe, but still....

Bud Light next to #9 is a sin. Buy that shit in cans and keep it in a cooler in the garage.

It's been about 14 years though since I've meandered around the Magic Hat Brewery when lived there. Was a freaky little black warehouse and only sold local. Then again I remember when Yuengling was pretty much just a PA beer too back in the college days. Fuck I'm old.

They're building now is great, all metal fab designs etc. Really cool stuff, easy to go there, tour, and drink plenty for free(+tips)

Yeah...FWIW, Latrobe almost is a 3rd world country...the 'mountain spring' (or was it stream?) water was actually acid mine run-off. Now Rolling Rock is made somewhere in NJ and is complete crap...we just wish it wasn't a domestic brand...:ack:

Yeah Essex is cool, when I had a boat we'd hit indian bay and the old dock for lunch. I agree it'd be pretty cool to have a brewer on the water, Long Trail brewery is placed right along a river which is cool.

I heard someone pronounce it this way several years ago in Pittsburgh. I thought it was comical so I started saying it. Now everyone I know pronounces it this way. When I was in GA a few weeks ago I even heard someone there say it this way.

Yueng-ling is my go to everyday beer. The gas station next to my work keeps a few cases for me, and only me, in the back fridge. I walk back to the "employees only" area and access the walk-in for my beer. He only puts 6-pack bottles on the shelves. I don't like Yueng-ling in a bottle any longer. Every-so-often I'll try it but it remains the same - it tastes like tin foil or something. But the cans are fine.

Somewhere in NJ? It's made at the Anheuser-Busch plant next to Newark International Airport. :ack:

I've got this on-tap right now. Great for the warmer weather we're having here in LA:

I've got a magic hat #9 right now on my desk, a heady topper and a pliny the elder in the fridge. And tonight I'll be drinking Shed mountain ale as I generally do

Two beers from Highland Brewing Co. (Asheville, NC)

Kashmir: a basic IPA. Not high ABV, not very hoppy, and no extra flavoring. Just a straight up IPA

Devils Britches: similar to the Kashmir. A bit more flavor.

Both are good beers, but I'd probably prefer their Gaelic Ale, as it is more flavorful.
