I'm shopping for a code reader that will work on my Discovery 2002 and 2004. Not looking for the most expensive, just one that will identify and clear codes. Anyone have any advice?
Autel 619.
Reads OBDII, ABS, SLS (airbag) codes, and clears them for every car you can think of (1996+ of course). It does everything but programing (BCU, etc)
$115 from Amazon.

No, I guess I'm not sure at all. New territory for me. I'll look into what you've suggested. Thank you for your help. Are you sure you need a tool with that kind of capability? For reading and clearing CEL codes a garden variety scanner will do fine. I use an OBD Link Bluetooth dongle connected to my phone running the Torque app. Pretty user-friendly setup. You can buy the dongle used on ebay, the app is about $5.
