Lets open a can of worms, I am talking which locker/mud tire is best type of can.

Need something to carry everyday everywhere just because its my civic duty. I can keep the Glock 17 in my truck or desk but its hard to hide otherwise. I LOVE my Glocks, I really really wanted to buy the G33 but it feels about as good as VD.. There are a lot of options in .380 PPK and a couple Sigs come to mind. The .380 does not thrill me but would be effective if I had to use it, think backup/get away situation, home defense is covered. A revolver would be an easy choice, Model 29 or a Python but I cant carry those under my tshirt.

At this rate its gonna be the brass knuckles and trusty bench made..

Glock 26 or 27 with mag ext. Or a 38 chief hamerless. I carry everyday and have for 20 years. I know what works.

I carry a Kahr Arms PM9 and love it. I bought it before the CM9 came out - which is the more affordable version (only one flush magazine provided vs. one 6-round and one 7-round which has an extension with the PM9; conventional rifling vs. polygonal rifling with the PM9). I never use the 7-round magazine and wonder if the difference in rifling really is that big of a deal for the range I intend to use it (25 yds and under).

Weight and bulk are two really important features to consider for yourself. I personally like a carry piece which is light and thin - Kahr fits that bill well. Get something you won't think twice about carrying - some folks find that they get tired of the weight of an all steel pistol and stop carrying, which defeats the purpose.

x2 on the 27. I have big hands and with the mag finger extention it fit fine. .40 is a big plus too.

Springfield XD-9 Sub-Compact for double stack mag, or alternative to the Khar PM-9 at a lower price point is the Keltec PF-9 in a single stack mag with the same slim profile.

You might, but I would not bring rocks to a gun fight, you would lose, Keltec or otherwise. I will admit they are not as smooth as the Khar, but once broken in and cleaned up a little, I have found mine to be very reliable and pretty accurate for the range intended.

How you dress day-to-day will help us answer this with a little more authority.

Given that, it's hard to beat a S&W Centennial (442, 642, 340) for pocket carry.

my buddy picked up a Ruger LCP and he just carries it around in his pocket. you cant even tell its there. the DOA takes some getting used to, but other than that its not a bad little gun to shoot.

Get a Glock 27 or 26. If you already have a 17 it will be a fimiliar gun to start with and feel just like the 17 once your used to it. Why can you not bear to shoot it? I have found that a lot of people that don't think they'll like them because of the size, feel alot better and love them after putting a few hundred rounds through it. I prefer the 27 for the stopping power of .40, but if you like 9mm stick with the 26.
