The "one in the chamber" is a whole other conversation. :D To be transparent, I'm on the side of carrying with one in the chamber... otherwise IMO all you have is a useless object on you. I personally like pistols with no safety as well - all I need for one is my booger hook which stays off the boom switch until it's time. Again why the Kahr fits my bill.

Surprised no one has mentioned a Sig, I've been looking at the p250. It feels perfect in the hand but haven't been able to shoot it yet. Anyone have any experience with it?

Yes and I liked it.

I agree. If your not carrying chambered your chances of effective use are low. I feel 100% comfortable carrying my Glock chambered. There is little to no tension on the firing pin till I pull the trigger, and any good holster is going to cover the trigger. For fast, close engagment you just wont have time to rack the slide. Let's hope none of us ever have to do it, but if I ever need to pull it, I like that I only have to worry about finding the front sight and pulling the trigger.

On a seperate note, as far as sights, I like XS big dots for a defense pistol. Definately the fastest to aquire a sight picture that i've ever shot.

I carry a glock 26 w/extended mag. Without ext mag Its to small for me but I find its very easy to conceal with or without ext mag Not sure why you don't like it being you carry one of the bigger glocks, I find it very accurate and Im not all that experienced with shooting being a noob.

Not trying to pee on your fire, but the Israelis seem to do okay carrying condition three.

I carry with the chamber loaded as I'm slow and need all of the help I can get.

Any condition will do, if YOU will.

Will, I think you know by now how much I like the little snubs. They are pocket rockets.

Give them a try. Shorts, dress pants, etc. Doesn't matter what you wear. as long as you have a pocket, you can CCW all day long.

I have the top model in the pic. It conceals nearly anywhere and is light to carry. It is LOUD and messy but shoots well.

I love this, probably because I still love the feel of 659...but hey, if you are drawing it out of anywhere, pockets, holster etc you are either:
1. Flashing it to warn someone off
2. Using it

Either way it works real well....especially the knock down effect of a .40 vs the 9mm - I don't want the fuckturd getting up again if it is a misplaced shot.

GLOCKS! No fucking way...you want something with a better safety if you are carrying it daily in non-battlefield conditions...those safety's on them are awesome only when you are "actively" going to be pulling it out to use it - FROM A HOLSTER!

My local police sgt friend carries the bottom one when off duty. He was at a party at my house once and pulled that puppy out out of his shorts pocket to show me. Couldn't tell he had it, and he's a small guy (~5'6", 145). Very nice gun.

Edit: I believe his was in .357. That should take care of any kind of business...

There is no other way to carry a handgun unless you just want it for show. Jesus Christ I can't believe I bought into another stupid gun thread!

Most people in this thread have never pointed a gun at anyone for real in their lives and are offering advice in tactical situations

And going to gun sight or thunder ranch for a week does not make you a tactical operator or a ballistics expert.

fuck all this handgun talk. Go big or go home.

AK47 with wire frame folding butt stock. Barrel cut short and turned for muzzle brake. gas port redrilled and gas tube cut short. handguard replaced with short synthetic guard with vertical grip. 20 round mag. With elastic sling this will hang in your arm pit no problem and hide under a sport coat or LL Bean Flannel. I'm sure Andy has seen a similar set up in his travels...

Since I'm on a rant I'll address some of this. I'm assuming you are not a Delta Operator or some other high speed guy. But 'flashing to warn" just sounds like a chance at close quarters to have your weapon taken from you or at best gives your target a chance to know you are armed and to react accordingly.

Either way it works real well....especially the knock down effect of a .40 vs the 9mm - I don't want the fuckturd getting up again if it is a misplaced shot.

A misplaced shot with a 40 won't put down anyone any better than a 9mm. I've seen people hit with 40s do just fine. Yes the 40 is a better round but you still got to hit a good spot when using a pathetic handgun of any cal.

No one bitched more about Glocks than me. I own 4 off them now from 9mm 45 acp 40 to 10mm. In a holster they are perfectly safe. In reality you should carry a handgun of any type in a holster .In your pocket is great until you are rolling around on the floor fighting someone. Not all fights go instantly to gun play or even merit the threat of their use.
