withya on that one Mike...If you were in the gas for 10 seconds, you'd over the obstacle and would have run over Justin and the camera guy...

also if it takes ten seconds to kick in, there's something wrong with your TC

Personally I go more from experience and the experience of others that have similar set ups and driving style. Some times people try to help others only to be argued to death. It's like if I were to start a thread about selectable lockers being better than non selectable, regardless of what you say or film etc there will always be those who need to be devils advocate. Even if your intentions are good and are open to their opinions they will interpret it as an argument or challenge.
This is what I think about traction control...even on pavement

How do you get home relying solely on traction control? I understand the original point was not about traction control being a bad thing, it was about increasing the traction controls ability with the aid of a cdl. I'm not sure what Justin was saying about the confusion regarding traction control. I'm curious what the confusion is. Are there people who swear by traction control offroad? Granted we are all different off road, some of us like pushing the truck with no regard what so ever, some like to push their truck with limitations, and some just enjoy getting off pavement. Modern traction control is pretty amazing, seeing some of the stock LR3's on the rock course is cool to watch. Flooring an awd vehicle on ice proves the advantages.
HOWEVER I do remember a certain person having to redline an LR3 to get up a wet grassy hill and of course back at camp there was the poor truck sitting on bump stops with the 'fuck you, I'm done' lights and chimes on. So maybe the original point was implying the effectiveness of traction control with the security of a cdl?

Ok I have a camera man, editor, driver and connect to a national news network and full blown movie studio right here in Chicago. Perhaps I'll take that suggestion.

For your benefit, I will leave this one alone.

I'm sure your "full blown movie studio" and "national news network" would love to help you win a fight on a small Internet forum.

Sorry somehow I missed your entry which said essentially the same thing I did.

Justin, you and your products and customer service are greatly admired here.

Your video kinda suggests your BSing your way through it and don't really care about accuracy.

Suggestion: if you are going to use this BB for an advertising platform that's cool, make your ad video stuff as accurate as possible, don't mess with a good thing -- meaning the fantastic reputation you have worked so hard to get.

I have to get some of those shirts !!! (and some armor, and a snorkel, and hi-lift jack and ...........................................)

so, do wide or skinny tires work better? with traction control of course.

I would assume that the lightest, shortest, smallest tire would work best, because the brakes could more easily control it, and the available power from the spinning wheel would be able to do more work on the stationary side with smaller tires.

But I don't know.

obviously you dont know Justin personally. he can take abuse, but when you start questioning his intentions especially in such a manner you have, it crosses the line. even people that know him and think he is a show boat, knows his intentions are to help others (not make a buck).

the question i have for him is what all the confusion is concerning traction control, however the bigger question is what makes you more knowledgeable on the subject? although your responses have not proven any pro's or con's regarding simply using traction control, so i'm guessing this is the confusion.
we all get a kick out of busting Justin's balls (because he is sensitive and it is easy), but last i checked the guy runs himself and his banking account very thin making the presence he has made these past few years. THAT is why he has built a reputation here and with the crowd that respects him.

yes there is a reason we refer to him as ShowTime, but shit i wouldn't give an eighth of the time or effort he gives when people like you like constantly make it a point to discount his efforts.

the next post you make should be constructive. if it is not constructive then we will take that as you not knowing what you are talking about, simply trying to piss farther than the next guy. which is to say prove you know what you are talking about or go back to expedition portal or whatever forum your better suited.

I sent you a Pm yesterday

Please let me know where you see this, not being a dick just looking for constructive criticism. Eli did not fake it that is why we stopped on a trail to film.

Agreed, But I would never BS just to try to sell a part. It can only come back and bite me in the ass. Im out in the field on the trails with people using the products we sell. No room for BS out there.

RoverDon...suggestion, come back when your done producing your awesome video of you laying into a obstacle for ten seconds trying to get over it. Maybe you can a use a H1 in it to prove the awesomeness of the mighty Wabsco ABS system that needs to be re-built because the shuttle valves fail...yep waiting with baited breath for the spectacular jib shots, maybe use a helicopter for aerials, do some CGI on how the ABS modulates the brakes...

Justin, please continue posting video's, the only one looking like a fool is this dipshit

And somebody put some explosions into the vids. That'd be sweet. The last L8 vid had the slo-mo jump but it could've been better with some big ass fireball in the background.
