To be perfectly clear, I asked the North American distributer for Equip to consider a proposal for suspension, he referred me to you because he wanted you to have the business.
You them told Chapman and the bunch all about, what I thought was going to be a private deal. I then turned down the offer for two reasons, first your lack of respect for private conversations, and second the price was simple far too much for suspension. It is not a common business practice to spread business dealing across the forums.
I was not scamming anyone regarding SEMA, it was my intention to be there and display my truck, I was late arriving and could not get my truck onto the site. I then went around to every company who had given me product and apologized for not arriving on time and offered to pay for what they had given me. Every single one refused and money and thanked me for my honesty and effort in showing up and offering apologies. I have stayed in touch with many of the suppliers and they have continued to send me products for review, watch Difflock magazine for some of that.

lol. Justin, when did you tell me all of this?

What is this Difflock rag? Is it new? Who is the editior?

I looked up Difflock, seems more of a UK based site. Here's the website:

http://www.difflock.com/magazine/

It just absolutely kills me that this guy is representing the knowledge base of Land Rovers here in the US. Look at his truck it's a piece of shit. How can a sponsor or any company take him seriously, with that cobbed rusty PIECE OF SHIT (please include me on the law suit with Dan). I'm really tempted to forward the Pirate and DWEB thread about his bullshit at SEMA to this magazine and see if they have any clue about how fucked up this guy really is...

"Issue 3 of our FREE magazine is available now."

Evidently it is, FREE.

I saw that, but is it just e-based? I wanted to see what the cost of this rag was.

First stop was page 26 and Kevin's copy-and-paste. Wasted pages for sure. I'll look it over after I smoke a joint.

Just e=based. All advertising is sold as online banner-type stuff. All I see is downloadable stuff, no ordering or anything.

So I just read his article and I wouldn't know this guy from some Joe walking down the street but my impression of his writing skills/use of a spell checker were less than stellar. I can't believe any real magazine would let this guy write for them, let alone be their North American editor.

His allusions to the Equip/Lucky 8 deal are interesting as well. Makes me wonder what really went on. Definetly wasn't due to taking a private convo public.

.

The short of it was: He wanted Lucky8 to sponsor his DISPLAY at SEMA. I Started asking around about him and he found out about it. It went south fast.

Me : he's looking for me to help sponsor him at SEMA

Dan: Good Luck with that BLLAAAAAAHHHHHAAAA!

One example:

"United groups of automotive hobbyists are a proven political force. To date, SAN efforts nationwide have resulted in positive outcomes on a wide range of issues, including vehicle scrappage ("clunker") laws, equipment standards, registration classifications, emissions-test exemptions, and hobbyist rights. You can be certain that these issues will continue to pop up at the state and federal level in the future. You can make a difference by joining SAN now!"

Taken word-for-fucking-word here: http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?id=60129

Example two:

"The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), is a non-profit trade association composed of more than 6,800 member companies including manufacturers and distributors, representing the specialty equipment automotive industry. All combined, the markets add up to over $34 billion in retail business annually. On behalf of our industry, we are fighting to preserve the rights of enthusiasts to use and enjoy their vehicles."

Word-for-fucking-word from the same web site.

Example three:

"Tread Lightly!, Inc. is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to proactively protect recreation access and opportunities in the outdoors through education and stewardship initiatives.

Not only is Tread Lightly! the nation’s signature ethics message for outdoor enthusiasts that use motorized and mechanized vehicles, but Tread Lightly! also offers unique training and restoration programs strategically designed to instill an ethic of responsibility in a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts and the industries that serve them.

The organization’s goal is to balance the needs of people who enjoy outdoor recreation with our need to maintain a healthy environment and it’s leading the way to help remedy current recreation issues.

Tread Lightly! is funded by donations from individual members, corporations, dealerships, clubs, retailers, and other organizations interested in spreading the message of responsible and ethical use of the outdoors. Federal Partners include the National Park Service, Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and Army Corps of Engineers."

Word-for-fucking-word from here: http://www.treadlightly.org/page.php/aboutus/About-Us.html

I made my point. I don't feel the need to go on.

What a fucking jack-off. He and XM should go hang out and fuck each-other.

Wow...you'd think anyone trying to be anything close to reputable would drop that guy in a heartbeat if this ever came to their attention, there is no excuse for that kind of blatant plagairism.

OK, I've read the bashing with half-hearted disinterest until reading the above statement.

I have on several occasions either been approached by folks wanting me to represent their companies, join folks in Rover-related businesses (boy did THAT one go south in a hurry!) and in a few instances, my approaching folks wanting to join them.

In each and every one of these case, my bona fides and good character were investigated, and I also investigated those I was interested in doing business with. In most cases, this was met with good humor at the very worst.

Although my education is often discounted for reasons beyond me, I do believe that what one is doing when investigating potential business entities is referred to as "Due Diligence" and is considered to be a requirement in ethical responsible business. I wonder why it is when Justin does something accepted in nearly every facet of business, a person who was essentially asking for a handout got all butthurt and refused to accept free or discounted merchandise?

Oh well, I suppose I'll get a letter from some two-bit attorney now demanding I cease in desist in my abuse of Kevin.

Cheers,
PT

still waiting for my letter to PT...

You're writing it. or are you waiting to see what letter I receive?

I would love to actually get such a letter, given one of my best friends is an attorney and the vast majority of my friends are as well, along with far too many of my clients.

Threats of legal action do not frighten me!:smilelol:
