I would consider doing something like this if I was at 20 years for retirement. I would require for purchase proof that SY was never a owner though.

I was surprised at the low price, but I am not familiar with that business. Seems like an odd way to sell a business, almost a craigslist type of ad. Hate to think 20 years of work was only worth 60k.

Is there enough stock to make $65k a good purchase for another Rover retailer?

The buyer will also agree to assume what payables and receivables that exist at the time of sale.

Could this be in the $100,000 range, causing the sale price to be lowered?

I would think that any serious buyer considering purchasing this company will identify all of the outstanding current and long-term obligations, at the time of sale, and factor those into the asking price. Not being familiar with the business, there very well may be a significant amount of outstanding debt (owed payments to suppliers, taxes, etc.), which reflects the low price. Of course this information would also be necessary to at least calculate a break-even point, so the new owner can have an idea when the newly acquired venture will begin making money.

I am in the process now of tendering a bid. I am working with the firm of Dances, With & Wolves. At this time I cannot comment on the progress.
