As said above the ARB is an alright bumper though, but it won't fit a 9.5 ti because the winch mounts feet forward and not feet down so you need a non integrated solenoid winch (XD9000, 9.5 XP, so on). While the ARB is nice looking it has a really bad approach angle, and its made out of thin metal so it will get dents and bend.

I mounted an integrated solenoid Warn in my ARB by purchasing a 24" wide Ramsey winch tray from Northern Tools and trimming the two front corners back at a slight angle with a sawzall to match the angle of the ARB bumper. The winch sits down very nicely and the winch tray helps stiffen the whole assembly up.

Get Ike's bumper. ARB and other brush bars just make your series look like a wanna be Defender.

At least they admit it! Mike always says that if you want to order from them, be prepared to wait..

Oh I don't know about that. I made a deal to buy a pile of axles last August and was told last month that they'd been sent to the scrap yard. I guess the $ I thought the deal had been made for wasn't as attractive as the far fewer $ the scrap yard gave for them was worth it.

A deal is a deal doesn't mean the same thing to everyone.

ARBs are junk. A lot of protection. The Outback bumper looks okay. I think Rockware has the best and only IMHO bumper for the Defender. A $afari Gard for comparison

I have the ARB. I like it. Has hit rocks, etc. Some dings, but solid. Only complaint I have is the approach angle. In some cases, not so good. All in all, very nice for the price. Next one will be a Rockware or Equipe though.

I have seen ARB's rotate. (Garrett spends most of his time in the Starbucks parking lot so...) Seriously though, they rotate. They're "folded" steel and they don't do much for your approach angle. (They stamp out thousands of those things!)

He might be sponsored, but if any instructor really thinks ARB is junk the are not going to run them on their trucks.

Sure RTE and others make a better bumper than ARB, but to say they are junk is a dumb statement.

They have a crappy approach angle and have crappy recovery points. The steel is certainly not as thick as RTE and others, but the powder coating is 200% better than RTE and most others. That's pretty minor I know, but who wants to spend $900 on a bumper to only have it start rusting in two years.

I've had my one ARB for at least 8 years. Before that Bill Bettridge had it on his red DI. It has a slight bend in one of the tubes and a small dent in the front from me hitting a bolder at speed. It's held up very well and never rotated even after hitting trees and large rocks. I also hit a deer doing 35-40mph with no scratches.

Mount them properly and securely and they won't rotate.

Drive like an asshole and hit something hard enough and it will bend, twist and shout.

I don't think so. I have never met anyone who puts pure function over all else like Bill Burke. The reason he uses the products he does is because they kick ass. ARB makes kick ass stuff, and I don't care what anyone says, if you damage their bumper, you are doing something wrong or stupid.
