NO as noted the diff is shorter and also the fixing bolt pattern is different also IMHO p38 is not as strong as the DII. Ian Ashcroft

P38 WILL NOT FIT without mods...if even then.

d2 and d1.. different depth flange.. d1 has the studs on the axle side..d2 has bolts that thread in to the axle. you could probably put a d1 in a d2 with longer bolts... but why bother?>? get a d2...

you can put a d2 in any d1, rrc, or 90 with a 24 spline set up..

Huh?

Sounds like you are saying no they aren't the same but then you say you can interchange them, Please clarify as this is good knowledge for a junk yard dog to have :D
