:D that wheel looks pretty round :D

I'll take it as a compliment. :D

So, next weekend D1 Linkage install Marc...;)

Actually I think I'm going to build a cable linkage onto the D1 linkage. I've already got the plans rolling around in my head. It should be pretty easy.

Oh, and Marc...............Moist.

Ask Marc how long they took...lol

they took probably 8 hours over a 3 month period.

so... 8 hours at, say... 40 an hour is 320, add about 20 for steel, and maybe a few bucks for incidentals (paint) and you could reasonably manufacture these for about 400 a set?

let me say it again...

GROUP BUY!!

how do you like those tires

I'm pretty happy with them. They have been on my truck for about a year now and no real signs of wear. Pretty quiet too. And cheaper than BFG's. I think I paid 750 for 5 out the door mounted and balanced.

I did the specs today for two custom peices to fit the cable linkage to the shifter and the cable to the nipple.

Depending on how fast I can get them CNC'd, we may be on for THursday.

It'll be the cats ass:drool:

20 Bucks for steel.......LOL! I can get any peice of steel or alum wholesale. The volume I'd have to order to get each set down to $20 bucks would be more than a group buy.

Nice thought though... :D

Great tires. I'm only six months into ownership and they are good in snow/mud/rocks and much quieter than the old MTs I had

Hey, I got a D1 linkage so I can pass down the CDL lever that Curtis gave me. Bolts right on, CDL engaged in 5 minutes........While drinking a beer:D

well... maybe I'm low on materials, but I suspect you could still do them for $400 and make a decent return.

Though you realize, I am only asking for the group buy because I like what you have done; I would certainly pony up 400 bones for a set for my DII!

i think you need to build a set
then you will realize how ridiculous your offer is.
$400 barely covers material, bending, and powdercoat.

if you want Ben to make you sliders, i'd start by not insulting him w/ such a pathetic offer. :D

for what's it's worth, when i was making these, i charged my father more than that. ;)

I had no intention of being insulting. I thought my assessment was reasonable; if not, I apologize.

I can purchase them from Rovertym for not much more than that... if a fellow rover driver could benefit from my purchase and do something he enjoys (both were assumptions), I would rather keep the cash local.

offer retracted.

they are a bit more work than most people think.
not insulted, not at all, but consider this.

you offer a group buy,
now he gets burried in work that he's not making much money on,
and on top of that , everyone gets bummed cause it's taking longer than the expect.

if you wanted to help out a local guy, you would have said something like,
"hey, Ben, if you have time, make me some and let me know what you need in exchange"
not "hey lets group buy, so i can get them cheaper Rovertym"
that sounds more self-serving than supportive.
now i'm paraphrasing your comments, yes, but you know what i mean.
i'm not trying to bust your balls, just know they are a bit involved.
