I have a 2" lift with 1" spring spacers so you will be able to fit them. The only other adjustment I had to make was to adjust the steering stops in the front so the tires do not hit the front radius arms. This requires taking a bolt off, putting on a washer and putting the bolt back on...takes 5 min.
As for consequences, there are none. Loss of power, yes, increased braking distance, yes, but not really a big deal. The only real problem is you have to get used to how the truck sways a bit more.
