DIp stick and/or tube for a 3.9

Odd request, I know...I have a feeling either the dip stick I have is too short or the tube is too long as my dipstick only reads oil on the very tip.

My 3.9 did not have a dip stick or tube when I bought it-the engine was a fresher unit and I can only guess the stick and tube where left on the shop floor that did the swap. I sourced stick that looks correct and then found a tube that fits but I think it's too tall.

I could also trim the tube if anyone has the correct length. I hate guessing about oil level.

I have one from a '96 4.0

It should be the same, no?

I don't think it is, I think the 3.9 is shorter than the 4.0, I think I've got a 4.0 tube now and it's too long.

if you have the right (matching) tube and dipstick then it should be fine... the blocks were the same size.

That sorted it Will, I was using the dipstick I got from you and the tube I got later (it had a later style stick). I cleaned up the later style stick and put it all back in and it is the correct length now to read the oil level.
