I finally received this a-pillar set from Malaysia. These are made out of fiberglass and attach to the window with strong 3M double sided tape plus the 3 plastic push pins (not attached by the 3 windscreen clips).
It's a very sturdy and solid build. Now I have to find time to install them.

I tried that once before. Bought a used one from Pull-A-Part and it lasted a year before it cracked all to hell again. I lost it recently going 70 on the motorway. It just blew off the truck.

If someone can find the push pins, I might be able to make some of these cheaper than $95.
I need to double check on what the mold will cost, but the supplies are relatively cheap.

Unless these holding with 3m tape end up being worse and not hold like the way the stock ones mount.

I absolutely hate the OEM version. The 3 clip system sucks ass.

That would be great if you can make these locally.
The push pins can be easily bought on eBay.

With my order, I also received a small bottle of the 3M primer 94 which is used as an adhesion promoter. I'm to use it only on the side of the windshield area prior to applying the a-pillar with the double sided tape.
Most vinyl wrap companies use the Primer 94 for better bonding of vinyl to applications.

i believe that same guy does a window cowl bit as well.
It is him. He does quite a bit of 4x4 fabricated parts.
If these a-pillars work out great, I'm going to splurge and get their lower window cowl also from him.

Source? I have purchased the stock piece and it is a PITA to install. Trying to get a good one off a junkyard truck is just not worth the effort as the protrusions for the clips inevitably crack. I purchase push pins from a local supplier. They are not OEM but close enough to work and much cheaper. The factory ones can be salvaged with little effort and reused too if you're okay with a small drill hole in the pin. Once again, LR designs some stupid shit instead of making the pillar larger and of metal and using a simple filler strip for the glass.

I like the idea of the adhesive on the window as the 3 tab/clip system is bad, the plastic tabs break off, and you lose the thing going down the freeway.. happened to me 2X..

Could you use the original as a mold to make the mold? That's how we copied WW kayaks back in the 70s and 80s.

Yes, that would be what I'd do. I just meant materials cost. Really, you could make it just like the OG and instead of using Plastic standoffs for the clips, you could glass some metal into the piece.
Me and my dad have discussed it a good bit.

Since it's been cold here in England (5 degrees C / 40 F) I've put off installing this set until it gets warmer. I want the adhesive and double sided tape to stick and bond effectively.

Why couldn't I had lost my a-pillar in the summer when we had 3 months of hot weather. FML...

Logan... if you could do the a-pillar cover and/or fabricate a better front window cowl, you can make a grip of money from the Discovery community who really need this. Just sayin...
