That's some BS. They are practically the same vehicle. they are both built on the D7u chassis as far as I know and share many of the same components. They are as similar as an older RRS is to an LR3.

I have had quite a few customers tell me that their L322 Range Rovers had a much better ride than their current L405s. This is likely due to the aluminum architecture and suspension components. They don't ride as well, but they drive much better.

I dunno. The 2016 RRS my daughters mom has rides pretty choppy and bad - I've driven it quite a bit and wasn't impressed at all. Maybe it's those big dumb wheels/tires. I don't know, but the ride isn't good. Not even on par with my 2008 Tahoe. It's certainly more refined on shitty roads to some degree, but the overall ride isn't as good. I mean it's a quick SUV and pretty nice I guess, but I'd never buy one regardless of price.

Is that a Ford in the photo? LOL, no one noticed (including me). Point well made.

No, she's not that vapid :D

There's tons of post-2005 rovers of all sorts over here so you get to see them up close quite a bit. Remember, it snows alot and this is 3M,Target,Medtronic,US bank,BestBuy,General Mills, etc. territory.

I admit it's looking a bit better in this latest shot

Like me, I am sure many assumed you were being sarcastic seeing that was obviously the Ford but felt no need to post about it... ;) The irony is that many apparently didn't notice LOL

Picked it up this afternoon - TD6 with all of the off road stuff. First impressions are how quiet and smooth it is. Its going to be a great road trip car.

Go drive the damn thing. This is a great truck. It's not a new platform, its just about exactly the Range Rover Sport. So quit bitching about it and go drive the damn thing.

I'll bitch. It's awful. What part of the 20" wheels make it a great platform? If this exact car was a Kia you all would be all over it right? Sorry but that is not related to any rover I own. Only in emblem I suspect.

Dude. It looks kind shit from most angles. The one perched on the "course" at an angle that shows mostly roof and some side and front but NONE of the rear looks alright. A car can drive well but if it looks like shit it isn't going to be bought by me or desirable. Here's another example of it blending into mediocrity.

No offense Stew, but it seems most of the people singing praises of the D5 are dealer people.

Probably because they have actually driven them and know that they are built on the same platform as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

It is definitely ugly, so no contest there, but I imagine it is way better in pretty much all aspects than an LR3/4. The LR3 is probably the most boring Land Rover made, IMO. The quality isn't bad, but it is just dull.

My vote for dullest LR made is the Series IIB Forward Control. Now the 101FC, that is something, but for some reason the IIB just fails to spark interest.

I took delivery late Friday afternoon of my new D5 diesel - this thing is amazingly quiet. The LR3 is going up for sale now that the new car is here.
