Anybody add additional door seals to a D1 to prevent water from coming in? Have a little bit of water coming in from the bottom seal. Could replace it all but saw a guy on another forum added some additional seal on his D2 the only think is the seal on the D1 are a bit different.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Will Tillery was selling door seal kits on here a couple weeks back. Feedback was positive, if I recall correctly. Check the "parts for sale" section or just give him a call.

Will has sets-I just ordered one. He uses a thicker seal than stock to fix that issue. Something quick to temporary fix it? You could add some felt to the trim piece or roll up a towel along the bottom of the door.

Not sure the D2 seals are going to help stop water ingress. I have the D2 seals from Will and they're definitely thicker. However, there is a vertical split along the bottom which isn't great for keeping water out. You may have to seal this seam to see the results you're looking for.

$80 for the whole set isn't bad. Did you think that was per door? It's a one time kind of thing.

Well call me cheap but $80 for rubber seal still seams steep. I will probably end up reinforcing it. That's more of what in looking for ideas on.

"A little water coming in?"
On my D1, you can toss a pencil between the lip of the seal and wheelwell top. It came this way from the factory!

That's the ultra rare-"remote writing instrument access" option!

Try the foam weather stripping that is used for pickup truck rear bed camper shells. It's sticky on one side which you can probably just stick to the window frame. I used it on my D90 doortops when I had my hardtop on. Worked great for sealing the doors better plus it was removable and temporary. Comes in a variety of widths and thicknesses. Got mine at the local hardware store.

LOL-I always figured not having door seals made it easier to drain the water out.

For some reason, I've had many requests for stock door seals lately. $80 is cheap for an entire set.

Yea Pedro hooked me up - as always. He's an awesome guy.

If I didnt have carpet in my truck I wouldnt be worried about it but that shit never dries and then when it does my truck smells like swamp ass. Hell I'd drill holes - old school jeep style - to let the water IN if my truck was minus carpet + bed liner lol keep your tires on the ground and drains out super quick

This was kinda what I was going with. Like I said I saw a guy on another form add the extra seals by sticking in on the outside of his seals. I got a set of d2 seals so I will try that and if it's needs something extra (dont think it will) I'll give that a shot.

Thats probably the best idea for defender/series guys who dont want to spend a small fortune on finding seals.
