Aaaah crap. Looks like the sweat pant wearing, no job holding, welfare receiving part of the population has cast their vote once again. Standby for continued destruction of the country... :banghead:

Would seem like a good opportunity for the Republican party to figure out how to have a platform that can facilitate winning on a national level (since both the Presidential and Senate elections didn't fare well).

It's easier to blame everyone else of course.

They need to drop the conservative social values to get the younger voters, IMO. I'm conservative and have many other young conservative friends who could really care less about gay marriage, abortion and similar issues. I suppose we'd be more of libertarian/conservative but I think that's the direction the GOP needs to move if they want to attract young voters

That doesn't quite work that way. People who get to work every day are not excited about free marijuana, and it extends to many other issues.

I am once again amazed at the level of hate for Mormons in this country. Romney has been burned by his own party, practically gaining no ground until the nomination.
Whatever happens four years from now, I am not voting for Christie.

I concur with you, I just don't think the party can do it. The far right is too entrenched to move off those issues.

I also don't think the minority nor gender differences are beyond capacity to overcome (or at least make competitive), but to do so means shifting off those social issues to make the economic message more palatable.

puff puff give. You be crazy man.

I wonder if I'm poor enough for a discounted cell phone, & internet at home (which I don't even have). I'll take some of that free mary jane too.

I enjoy looking at the popular vote maps on the county level............good stuff.

If the republicans can pull the young vote it would put both parties on an even field....

Well, I don't know about you all. but my company normally does our health care elections (stuff we can pic for the next year) in Oct. This year it is being done in Nov.. we all no it's going up. but this morning in our meeting to talk about the changes for next year. we were told that as of 0630 this morning stuff had changed from the already "put in place stuff". when I asked, I received the evil eye. It was kinda funny because my HR person couldn't even tell us what had changed, other than it has changed. and info will be sent out. on that note, we (company) never got to see the original stuff.

Am I reading to far in to the current election????

Free marijuana? Backing off moral/social issues doesn't mean giving people handouts, it means government giving people more freedom

No, you're not. My wife works for a large corp. Her HC insurance is going up and you 'must' take a physical if you'd like your deductible to be at the lower of 2 levels....

As I'm trying to wrap my head around this election the only thing I keep coming back to is the fact I'm not alone here. 1/2 of all Americans feel similar or the same as I..... :patriot:
