I'm looking for wiring and connectors for my front fog lights.

My passenger side fog light went out and I asked the dealer they said it was water damage and I saw the bulb was broken, I'm assuming water somehow got in and touched it causing it to break, so they said I have to replace the whole lamp unit and were charging me close to $300 so I just held off on that to try and find a used one or something. I had to pry out the old bulb because the connector gets sorta rusty I think and it becomes real hard to pull out the bulb, so I had to use pliers to pull it out, took me like half hour just to get it out lol.

Then my driver side light was fine but I was just trying to take out the bulb to replace with newer bulbs I got so I can put the matching bulbs on both fog lights, I also had to pry this one out and after like another half hour finally got it out. Was tough prying it out and the connector that the bulb's end goes into looks sorta rusty so I'm wondering is there a problem with the connector or wiring?

Because I put in my replacement bulbs and it's not working on either side now, seems my driver one got messed up as well, but the only thing I did was pry out the old bulb so there wasn't any water damage or anything there, did that prying it out mess it up?

Is there any way to tell what exactly is wrong with it? If its the full unit or just the wire/connector or a blown fuse or something?

Also I don't really want to spend so much buying and installing new lamp units, is there anywhere I can just buy the wiring/connectors and then just replace those without replacing the whole units?

Alright I'll check out NAPA thanks.

Also one more thing, the original fog light bulbs were 55W but the ones I replaced with are 100W, could this be the problem? Is it just not able to work with higher wattage bulbs or is that not really an issue?

Yeah, I had the exact same problem. My connectors were FUBAR. I've had this happen in a couple different applications, both with lamps that are not used frequently. When I change the bulb, it's fused into the connector. I've had to cut off both connectors on my fog lights and replaced them with a spade and a ring terminal. I simply insert the spade onto the post at the end of the lamp, and use a sheet metal screw to screw the ring terminal into one of the indentions on the bulb housing. No more plastic.

Yeah I'm going to get 55w ones because I just realized the recommended limit was 55w, but I'm wondering are the lights not going on because I put 100w bulbs or is it because the connector or wire itself is messed up? If the recommended type is 55w will 100w bulbs still light up if I put them in? I'm just trying to see what the problem is with it.

And I checked NAPA they didn't have any connectors/wires.

Wasatch: Do you have any kind of step by step way to do this or any pics of the kind of spade and ring terminals you used? I don't really want to have to replace the whole unit just to get the connectors.

EDIT: Hmm, just noticed one thing, I think my older bulbs were H1 bulbs and these I got are H3, but when I looked online for the bulb matching it said mine is H3 and also in the user manual when I'm looking at the page for replacing fog light bulb, illustration looks like an H3 bulb rather than an H1 (H3 has the extra wire coming out with the connection at the end while H1 is like just 1 bulb no wire on it).

So I guess I'm going to have to try some H1 bulbs maybe it'll work. Do you think this could be the problem? Because I didn't break the connector or anything just pried the old bulb out of it but didn't damage it and it was working fine with the old bulb. I guess I'll give that a try.

Atlantic British sells all kinds of Land Rover connectors, I had to buy a few for my front directional lights, and they had replacement light assemblies for my repeater lights... those things dont like to stay where they are, sometimes mine were hangin out dangling while im driving around.
