Hey gents,
I know my fuel pump harness is on the fritz and I am tired of jiggling with wires and adding more dielectric grease so I decided to order a used part from Will. Issue is when I went to replace the connection at the tire well it does not match. The connection at the top of the pump is fine.

Will assures me he sent a 95 harness which I believe, and also that ll non advanced evap system have the same harness... So I am looking here to see what I am doing wrong or what the mystery issue is? The new harness Will sent is on the left my current one is on the right.. and the blurry plug in the back is where it plugs in.

Any help would be awesome.

They're both AMP Econoseal III connectors.

Your original one is a 3-way, your replacement one is a 6-way (with only 3 ways used).

You could buy a new 3-way connector from an Auto-Electrical supplier.

Alternatively (and more importantly - FREE), you could release the terminals from both your old and new connectors and re-assemble your old (3-way) connector shell with the terminals/wires of your new loom.

Dis-assembly is easy -

Carefully remove the terminal lock from the front of the connector (the yellow bit) - use tweezers, it just clips on.

Use a pin to lift the locking tab above each terminal, while pulling gently on the wire tail - the terminal/wire and seal should just 'pop-out' of the back of the connector shell.

Here are a couple pictures of a how to remove the terminals (this one is not fitted with cable seals) from a Red Female Econoseal connector - the same principles apply to the Male terminals in your Black connectors -

.
(pictures open fullsize in a new window/tab)

Assembly is the reverse of dis-assembly.
