So the thing that makes golf courses profitable is now not profitable? That don't sound good. I guess the closing down of courses will continue then?

Well considering the rest of the world and the olympics thinks it is, I’ll stick with that.
To be fair the Olympics considers sports based on PR campaigns.

They used to consider Tug of War and Motorboating sports as well as croquet.

Croquet is way cooler than golf.

Also golf used to be an Olympic event, and then it wasn't and then it was again.

While I'm on it, the Olympics are fucking garbage now that they allow professionals.

I'll give you that in terms of the caliber of golf most of the population plays.

However, playing from 7200+ yards on glass greens requires quite a bit of athleticism and coordination.

mowing my lawn and keeping perfectly parallel and perpendicular lines while changing elevation and uneven tree root surfaces takes more skill and athleticism.

That may be. And if I felt strongly about it I might bitch to course owners and managers about not doing enough to attract players to their courses. I might write the PGA strongly worded emails for not doing enough to promote golf to younger generations. The one thing I sure as fuck ain't going to do is go bat shit fucking crazy and stalk some guy, who I don't know, on some forum because he posted a link about the struggles golf faces. And continue to do so until I come across as some kind of un-fucking-hinged psychopath.

And telling people your going to drive to there house and kill them and sink them to the bottom of a pond with rocks? Or when you tell them to stick a pistol in his mouth and kill himself?

Yeah it would probably be better if you just didn't do that.

I like golf. I've got a vicious slice, but whatever. It's fun to get out in the fresh air, drink and drive some golf carts, and give my friends shit about how much they suck.

But unfortunately, lR'S do suck. And a lot of people here who genuinely love LR's have admitted that over the years. They were doing a service to those who came here thinking about ownership but weren't prepared for it. Kudos to them.
