No, the meaning was completely different.
Namely, I spent some time arguing with my liberal friend about this issue and thought we were getting to some understanding. Then it turns out there wasn't one - the guy I considered reasonable and of an analytical mind would resort to empty liberal slogans.
So I gave up.

Ugh, what a shame. Did you send him the Sam Harris article I posted? I've actually gotten a bit of traction with some of the anti-gun liberals I know with that one.

Wow, the yelling gets old but Morgan is put in his place. What I don't understand is why the government thinks it would help by taking guns away from law abiding citizens? Seriously?! How much more backward thinking can it get?

Let me get this straight, Law abiding citizens get their names and street addresses posted all the map for everyone to see like we're the damn criminals. They can't post a map of the criminals addresses and guns because criminals don't register their guns, what a crock of shit.

Fuckin' Alex Jones! Goddamit... that sonofabitch hurt the hell out of our cause and made all us sane, law-abiding gun owners look like wackos. Morgan's producer knew that was what was going to happen, which is why they invited him on the show. About the last thing we need is windbags like Jones as the mouthpiece for gun-owners. What a disaster.

The problem is, whenever I send him something I consider non-partisan and reasonable, he'll spend hours proving that it came from some far-out conservative source. And he'll come back with factcheck or some other reference showing inconsistency in every single number, before reading even a third of the article.
And that's the guy who happily posed for a bunch of photos wearing my helmet and body armor...

CNN used to be good.
But that was a long time ago.
Alex Jones really seems like a nut-case to me.

CNN put him on for the ratings, no other reason.

I read an article about news reporting control.
It said, why do there need to be so many stories about the same topic, all at once?
No one NEEDS to be able to report the same story so many times.
You should only have a small number of stories.

And, a couple less-funny points about sensationalizing the little cunt-bag murderers.
Maybe a bit less making the asshole famous would be helpful.

Cuz, you know, the Founding Fathers never thought of "modern" communications like TV when they wrote the First Amendment. They were talking about copied-by-hand, "single edition" newspapers, not this "around the world in an instant" internets things.
This internet, it's just for spraying information at as many people as possible, indiscriminately.
Someone could get hurt!

Maybe so, but he said what people need to say more often. It's just a shame he's standing alone up there.

Passionately talking over people like that works very well when you aren't the only one doing it.

Here are my thoughts on Alex, he is a bit crazy I agree but he was being interviewed by a man who said, "you must be incredibly stupid" to his last guest. Alex thought fight fire with fire right? Wrong, there is a fine line between fire with fire and stooping to someones level. We lost big time IMO.

I don't necessarily disagree with him, I disagree with how he came accross. i wish I felt like I had a group to hang with. More and more I feel like a minority.

Some people like passion, others not so much. That type of passion may come back at you. What you so angry about? Why would you need a an assult rifle? Should you have a gun when you can get so angry? What is your problem? You should just give it up since 50 people were recently killed by them. What's the big deal anyway do you really need an assult rifle? You realize how many guns there are in America and how high our crime is, just pass the laws and make this one compromise, they won't come after more.

...

I am sure you guys have heard it. It's scarey that people don't understand it. It's more scarey that some don't even listen, no matter how calm and rational you are.

I am starting to get tired of trying to convince them. Sometimes it is very hard to make them change. If they are unwilling to listen to fact, believe you, investigate/research themselves it is darned near impossible to change their opinion.

I know people that have come around and it has taken an awful lot of effort. Only in one case have I been able to do it alone and I live with that person.

The other way would be if the person was a victim themselves. Remember that doctor who's wife was raped, children tied to beds and set on fire while he watched tied to a chair? Not sure his opinion on guns but if he was against I'm sure he own at least one now. It's a realty that most don't want to face for some reason or another.

That's why you won't see me going on about it. I'm tired of the never-ending argument with senseless people, and it's too late to affect a change now. The progression of events has already begun.

It's time to watch, and see what happens. Those who can steer that progression are in Washington.

I'm waiting to see if they can. The public is too easily manipulated.

Cheers,

Did you ever notice that the same people who want to limit someone else's right to own a firearm are the same ones who love to discuss killing their ideological opponents?

And what would you call AJ's threats of violent revolution? Instead of pointing the finger, let's instead focus on keeping the debate civil, logical, and not using loaded language and threats. This goes for everyone involved.

Knewsom, you are correct, but AJ is a lone nutjob. What I posted is commonplace on the left. There are twitter posts galore of people wanting to see people in the NRA getting murdered.

Same with millions of twitter posts about killing Romney if he got elected. I'm sure it's both ways.

Anyway... knew this was coming. Note, the 2nd Amendment isn't restricted to Congress doing anything that might infringe on the rights of a citizen to be armed. It simply says those rights shall not be limited or undermined.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/biden-obama-might-use-executive-order-deal-guns_694984.html

So our dear leader, the Constitutional expert, is fitting up to break the Constitution. No surprise, it will merely be another example, maybe someone will pay attention this time.

buzz Bissinger probably wouldn't know a semi-automatic weapon if it bit him in the ass.
