Not trying to be more of a prick than normal, but do we need to have Gun 101?

Edit: I can't find a decent youtube educational gun video that isn't filled with unnecessary horseshit.

I don't think I've met a magazine fed pistol that wasn't semi-automatic. There were some strange bolt action pistols in wwII, but nothing modern.
as for rifles, there are some bolt action removable magazine fed rifles. But a majority of rifles sold today are semi-automatic.
I was taught:
magazine: a place that holds ammo to feed into the chamber
clip/En-bloc: a device to load a magazine.
If it hangs down from the gun or fits within a protrusion of the gun, it's a removable magazine. (m16/ar15, 1911, glock 17, etc)
If if fits into the gun and loads an internal magazine, it's a clip. ( M1 Garand, Steyr carbine, older rifles)

I just want one of the long clips, they look cool.

This is why I'm not on any gun owners or K9 Owners forums. Because everyone else knows best. Much more so than any other enthusiasts forums out there. The RC forums are actually the best and have the best usergroup IMO, everyone just gets along. They're all also members of the AMA so you have that.

I wouldn't trust the damn thing for a minute. Some shitty ass spring from China I'd bet.

Wouldn't trust the Magpul 30rounders?

We do-aside from the minor issues with feeding into the tight tolerances of the M27, the PMAG is pretty much fantastic and I've never had spring issues with them-certainly no more than the aluminum USGI issue mags.

You can't go wrong with Magpul. I don't really like their Glock mags and the price point isn't that much better than factory, but for the AR platform-they are $. They are made in the US too, so there is that.

Scott you had to be absurd posting a G26 w/the 33rounder didn't you?

I'm pretty sure you can get 32 rnd mags...

That's how you get these goofy looking things:
ExtendedMagazine.jpg

IIRC, the '94 assault gun ban banned large pistol mags (just like >20rnd AR mags).

Any moron that would shoot this abortion would also use a bumpstock.

I also cringe when people call pistol magazines "clips"....

This is a magazine:

But clip is so much easier to say.

Excuse me, please hand me my magazines over there.

or

Hey, throw me the clip.

I've honestly never shot or spoke with anyone until now who emphasized the difference, but, it does make sense. I actually thought clip was the slang term for magazine. Looks like Clips may go into the old m4?

edit: m1

The chump that shoots 30 round magazines out of his Glock says, "Hey Marvin, throw me another clip."

Those are .30-06 M1 Garand EnBloc clips

LOL

I'll put my home skooler up agin yer gubmint skooled kids any day...

And last I checked, the kids who were shootin' up the schools were, in fact, products of the schools.
I dont think any homeschoolers have gone into any schools with guns blazing...

Doesn't the clip self eject after the final round? I'd love to shoot one of those at the range.

and... I'm not into looks, guns serve a purpose but you'd never catch me dead with one of those.

None self eject after last round, but the slide should lock to the rear. Reason some of us are particular about terminology, i.e. magazine vs. clip is because that is the proper nomenclature for that specific part of a weapon; at least as used in the military and I'd venture to say majority of PDs. Kind of like a charging handle for an AR vs. that lever bolt locking thingy, etc. as mentioned before, a clip is smth different, hence why you have a term stripper clips (10 5.56 rds attached to one easily removed U shaped channel). Not to harp on this but hearing clip used does about the same as someone using different nouns (other than the 'military used') to spell out the alphabet. A as in apple... No, that is alpha, etc. just past experiences define us all I suppose.

the kids shooting at schools are products of an immoral society, regardless who is educating them.

constant social interaction is a necessity. unfortunately, in any school environment, public, private, Montessori, more so public schools, our children will encounter bullies. they need to learn how to deal with them at some point. they also need to learn how to see someone needing help and have compassion. compassion may be the one thing that school shooter needed. somebody to make him feel like he matters.
