Has anyone here resealed a T case?

I'm thinking about taking on the challenge of resealing my own transfer case. Has anyone here done this before? If so, how difficult is it? If I took it to a shop, they would likely get me for the 5-6 hours to r & r plus a couple more for the bench time. For that kind of money, a rebuilt one would begin to make sense....especially if it was done right. Thoughts?

Q

Where's the leak?

The output seals are easily accessible without removing the case. Clearly, the input - from the transmission - isn't.

Yes, I've replaced output seals and it's not a big dreal at all. When the blasted thing (a) continued to leak, and (ii) began making scary noises, I replaced it with a rebuilt unit from Rob Dassler (RoadsideRob) in ABQ.

The nice freight truck man brought me a big heavy crate, I removed the old one, installed the rebuilt one and was lucky enough to meet Rob a the '06 Rally in Leadville to return his core.
