Help needed with D1 CV joints

I have searched for a while, but could not find what I was looking for. Anyone have any pictures of what to expect or a good write up on how to change em? My 98 decided recently to have a clicking sound in drivers hub while turning tight turns, while nailing the gas.

What are steps to getting out?
What parts should I buy?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

pull the caliper

pull the drive flange

remove the hub

remove the spindle

pull the CV

very easy job which just takes time and a bit of bolt loosener. I can post a few pics but i think they are too big... you might want to consider new rotors, pads, while doing this repair. Good luck.

And if you have 1000 bucks get HD's while your at it from GBR or 1200 from CV Unlimited

screw that just knock it out , it takes 30min to swap a cv and shaft.

I love seeing comments in the Brit mags about competitors changing CV joints in four minutes!:rofl: :smilelol:

17 m/m socket, 14 m/m 12-point, hub nut socket, lug socket and that's pretty much it. 5/16 if you wanna replace the swivel seal. Might as well do the swivel pin rebuild while you're at it.

By the way:

Brakes are brand new
Rotors are fine
Bearings less than a year old, with new seals
