So someone can't just walk up to the truck and ask to buy some tools?

Not really. most of the time the snap-on guy will hid the purchase under someone else's account (like someone you work with). If it's a high-dollar purchase or financed, you need to be on his client list, or you may get referred to another Snap-on guy who can accept clients. *(this info is 15 years old, so they may have loosened the rules slightly).

You can be an honest Snap On driver! I will never forget when my driver told me Snap On stop making 3/8" universal joint and tried selling me the Blue Point instead (claimed they stop making them because guys were using them wrong) never mind the other truck in town had them on board in stock.

I'm in "Tool School" this week.

It's hard work learning all this stuff. Harder than fixing Rovers and slingin' parts.

I am sure with all your experience you will do well Paul, but a lot of snap-on franchisees don't make it... also must admit I am surprised by this choice, it doesn't seem like you to give up being master of your domain and go work for "the man".

You finally went pubic....public.

So does Schram-a-lot now become Schram-On or Snap-a-lot?

Very happy for you kiddo! Tell your son to introduce himself 'round these here parts. With your busy schedule, now we may have to defer our calls to him for endless conversations about how much it sux working for the man... the Snap-On man.

It wasn't an easy decision under any circumstances. As SWMBO says, "it might not look like the right idea now, but in five years, it will look like a great idea".

I'm a franchisee so to a great extent, I'm still working for myself-at least, that's what I'm telling myself.
