Help, I am immobilized with my Discovery 1. Bastards broke into my truck and FAILED! 🤬 Door lock is now INOP and can’t start the engine. Any suggestions/tips on how to reset or deactivate the system. Note: I don’t have the key fob and driver door is INOP.

Thank you in advance.

Jeff

Call a locksmith, AAA or break a rear window. You can replace the window with one of those aluminum hinged panels.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Only the passenger door is inop, I can access the inside but the engine won't start due to immobilization system activated?

Your only option is to get inside the drivers door and find the electrical switch attached to the back of the lock cylinder. The car is going to need to see an input from that switch to disable the alarm.

Yep. I know I will be replacing the door handle but was hoping I can disable the system temporarily and drive it. It's parked in the street. Thanks for your input Stew!

You should be able to use the emergency key access code method. Hopefully you have the code for your truck. Otherwise 1515 may only work 1 time when you enter it.

Thank you! I don't have the eka code for my truck, I'll try 1515 once I get the driver door replaced.

you can also remove your door panel on the driver side and access the micro switch. This is not a "might work" option... it is a "will work" . Grab your screwdriver a 10m socket and ratchet and panel popper and do it right the first time. While you are in there you can take the door handle off and remove the lock cylinder ....gut it and make it so you can use it temporarily to get in and out of the vehicle. They bent the tabs/pins inside that recognize your key pattern but by removing a few you can make it work for just about any key.

Good info Will. You can get your code from a LR dealer.

I saw this and not sure if it’s accurate but figured I would pass it along..

“Immediately open the door, insert the key in the ignition switch and turn the switch to position II. If the ignition switch is not turned to position II within 30 seconds of the end of the 5 minute wait, the engine is automatically immobilised again.”

Pull the battery for 30 minutes, then reconnect and try the emergency code again.
if that fails then start pulls the door panel like Wil suggested. But the battery disconnect will reset the immobilizer. I have done this a couple times before.
