Pretty sure we don’t use the emergency lock code here in the states. Not used in this market the way I under and it.
I have used it on a P38 I had last year. It worked then. It was a 98 US model which I was told the same thing, we don’t have the immobilizer on the US models. Yet there I stood, turning the key in that bizarre sequence and sure enough the car turned over. Didnt stay on long but it started.

P38 is a piece of crap by the way!

both of the most recent D1's I've bought had dumb things done to the wiring that caused this. First one had the small switch on the drivers door lock all messed up. Second one had the wiring for the door open switch cut. That is a giant pain in ass to fish through the door pillar. I've never had to do the key code thing and I'm not sure it really exists.

do the lights go on and dim off when you open and close the doors?
