Happened to us yesterday.

At least my wife got a laugh watching the person's sobriety test.

Tom - nice-looking truck. My other 96 is of the same color - but needs a repaint job.

My daughter has been rear-ended about a week ago by a guy either texting or doing whatever but looking up. The guy was in a Ford Focus - I'll post the photos later; unfortunately, my daughter was driving the 95 SWB, so the rear chrome bumper is not perfectly straight.

Your wife backed into a drunk guy at 45 mph?
Yeah, and she wasn't even driving. Impressive, eh?

Tom-you're at fault, you shouldn't have had that trailer hitch there without a trailer attached LOL.

Hope everyone is OK and no real damage was done.
I know you're joking, but actually in PA it's illegal to drive around with a hitch installed when you aren't towing. No idea about AL, but the police didn't cite me so I think I'm good. ;)

We have sore necks today. Not going to say much more since we haven't contacted the other person's insurance co yet.

The bumper is bent in a couple of inches at the end which caused the tailpipe to jam up under/behind it so on the drive home (about 3 hours) it melted out the bumper light.

Don't worry, you at getting a new bumper with lights. The frame is not bended?

Hope the sore neck is just the sore neck and nothing serious.

It's probably on the books everywhere.

When my wife was an adjuster, she was often surprised at how much more damage was done by having a trailer hitch in place.

What about shackle adapter and shackle?
My neighbor tried to persuade me that a dent in his Bentley Mulsanne's grille was from my D1's shackle receiver. After nearly being offered a reenactment, he agreed the shape of the dent didn't quite match.

Something that strikes me as odd about this quoted statement: who leaves a $300,000 car parked in a location where someone might back into it? If I had a Mulsanne the only places I would park it are

a) the gated circular drive of my mansion
b) in my garage
c) in the vestibule of the casino
d) where the valet leaves it between the A8L and 760iL

LOL... The truth is the guy has nowhere else to park it. His three-car garage is filled with a POS Rolls Royce (which blows more blue smoke at an occasional start than my 68 Wagoneer), an unloved and unmaintained Ferrari, and an orphan BMW. The house belongs (on the books) to a lil old Mexican lady who shows up every once in a blue moon. Once in a more frequent while, a party shows up in the middle of the night in a shuttle van with insignia of Aeropuerte Internacional Tijuana, yell at the top of their lungs until four in the morning, start their cars and shuffle them around, and will be gone next day. Two days ago, an AMG S55 showed up in the evening, to be gone two days later. All this time we were listening to the bleeps of these cell phones Mexicans use as walkie-talkies.

The Mulsanne has been under a cheap car cover ever since, missing the grille.

Yeah, and even less damage would occur if people didn't rear end you. :p

Glad you're ok. Truck doesn't look like it has much damage (especially compared to his)

I leave the trailer hitch in all the time too. Just so it fucks up someone's car if they hit me.

Yeah, the lobster-claw, (NATO) lunette coupler sure took a bit of a guy's brand new Ford F-150. Bent radiator and buckled the hood. Still haven't fixed that cracked tail light in the bumper. It works fine....

Glad to hear you're OK, Tom. What upgrades ya got in mind? A idiot kid running a stop sign and getting T-boned by my wife was how I got the SG front end with change leftover.

Cheers
