Assuming its a tdi, you might have trouble as it doesn't meet the specs laid down by LR for the 95 MY.
You'll also have to change the speedo.:)

good luck

Perpetrating and getting a state title issued does not mean that you have a legal vehicle. Unless you bring the vehicle up to US specs (emissions, safety, glass, etc.), you are breaking federal law.

Seriously, how many times do we have to go over this? There is only one way to have a 100% legal import vehicle and it's so expensive that you're much better off buying a US spec and spending the money on a restoration.

Check out this link New CKD and go to the bottom. I've seen these trucks and they are as they say Brand New.
Hmmm..the only CKD I've seen here was indeed a new one, but titled as a IIa 109. OR Series III maybe. Even a CKD I don't see how it could be legally titled. Unless somehow they are classed as a kit car.
BTW, that link is mangled.
Here's the right one http://www.chrisbatha.com/Gazette_03/gazette9_spring.html

Quick FYI I have over 3 year experence in the fun world of internal trade and have talked to some import experts. This is no big deal and most of the stuff you have heard is false. I can bring them in all day and work the title issue's out on the stat level. I live in KY and if you have ever seen some of the crap with a title on our roads you will think the same way I do. So if I bring a couple in and title them who wants one???

Oh I deffinitely want one of those deffenderz. Can I make up a witty vanity vin # for it?

I don't know how they get around the laws but the trucks are very nice and no I have no connection to these people. My wife spotted this one on the way to my grandparents house in Thomasville, Georgia.

If it is legit and I was in the market for one I would definitly pay 55k for a new 110 that wasn't cobbled up or a "67' 109" . That's probably cheaper than they would sell them for if they did import them to the US.

No doubt. That's why I'm, shall we say, skeptical.
Somewhat reminds me of the CKD WWII Jeeps in the 60's.

Ok I am back and have news. First stop with all the hate. I just love Rovers and thnk it sucks that I can not get a deffender in the US. Perhaps I should have a Mexican drive one up from Mexico. So this is what I am thinking and researching. I think if we put a Bio Diesel converstion kit on a deffender I can bring them in under alteritive fuel vichele. My attorney is researching this for me. I think we can find away if we all work togther I love this site and Rovers any help would be great.

And even if you could, there's more to it that the engine. I don't believe the DOT really cares about the specific engine all that much. They're more in to the glass, airbags, crash worthiness and all that.
