Eibach is already making 2" lift springs. Their use has exactly-predictable outcome due to lost caster.
The training wheels are already 32", and step-in height pretty ridiculous. However...
33" tires (either 255/80R17 or 285/70R17) fit without any lift and no adverse consequences - 255 is what I am going with once current Bridgestones wear out.
34" (285/75R17) will have issues rubbing here and there. Nothing severe, but needs to be addressed.

Almost - because of limited color choices of p-coater. Their "almond" was the closest to Ineos' "Scottish White." I could have gone with a lighter color - that would look a lot whiter than the body until sufficient accumulation of brake dust.

I wonder if a local tire shop would trade in those tires with money your way since they are so new for a larger set. I personally would not have the patience if that was my plan, so good on you for waiting. For the amount of miles I do annually nowadays, they would probably age out before wearing out.

Well... I mentioned that I was going to be very poor for the foreseeable future, so living with these Bridgestones for now.
I can't really fault them for anything - they were very, very good on ice/snow. Will check rocks and sand in a couple of days.

Same for my Tacoma. At least 5-10 companies offer UCA's to deal with that. That said 3" or below usually isn't a problem. I have 3" on my Tacoma and an alignment wasn't a problem.

So I guess pictures doesn't do this vehicle justice. Those tires look pathetic in relationship.

Harsh I think the 32's are good out of the box...any smaller and meh.

Come on...remember back in the 90's when 32's were a HUGE improvement to our discos? It was all about fitting 265/75/16 or some pizza cutter 32's on 15" steelies. I was almost a downright outcast for my 3" lift and 33" Super Swampers. I wonder where this truck is today....that was one of my "for sale" pics.

So I went and did a little bit of reading. As with such things opinions are all over the place. What I gathered is 2" no problems. For other solid axal rigs the better lifts include the hardware to deal with castor. So just a matter of waiting for these lifts to hit the market?

Nobody makes the castor-correcting kit (yet). As for spring lift - there's only one OEM and aftermarket spring manufacturer - Eibach. They just started making taller spring kits for the Grenadier - 2" spring set exists currently. One owner from Los Angeles area installed the first set and netted about 2.5" of lift. His take was the truck became more squirrelly - which is understandable even with four-link setup. The truck in stock form handles like a Classic or a Disco lifted between 1" and 1.5"; making it drive like a 3"-lifted Disco 1 is definitely not in my plans. It is already tall enough, with more clearance under the body than a 3"-lifted D1 or Classic. Keep in mind, true 33" tires fit without any modifications whatsoever.

Well if it can fit 33's and given the type of "off-roading" you do, then no doubt lift not needed. That said put some 33's on it, because as it sits it has a mall crawler vibe. That's just MO FWIW.

I've always thought that 33's were a perfect tire. Big enough to be serious but not stupid jeep big. Once I got 33's on my D2 I was as happy as a clam.

I think this is a semi-profound statement 😄

I had 31s on my D1 with HD OME springs, and they were nice but looked a shade small at some angles.

And yeah, I think 35s on a "mid-size" SUV is definitely the borderline for "stupid Jeep" territory.

33s may very well be the Goldilocks...

It’s a five link front? Aftermarket arms are easy, probably a few companies already testing some.

I can't tell if that's a good "finally" or a bad "finally", though I'm hoping it's a good one.
It looks like he's probably just and low range and thus all the fancy shit is turned off?

I do agree that the electrocuted exclamation Mark Man gives one pause tho 😆

i didn'r tealize it was reflection at first and thought the row across the bottom lit up if the car was upside down. That thing on the left looks like something out of Space Invaders.
