Delta.com I checked all the travel cites but Delta won't list any fares lower than you can get them on their site so I use the travel sites to see what flights are cheap then get them straight from the air lines. I did the same thing when I went to Thailand.

Just found killer plane ticket deal from Nashville to Dublin in april. I have always wanted to go there but I realized it's in the middle of lent. Is that going to make everything more subdued? Who all has been (maybe lived?) there and is that a good time to go?

That's a very good question. I don't know the answer, but it's still a very good question.

Cheers,

Kennith

I fly out tomorrow night so it's time to bring this back. We are flying in and driving straight to belfast and have a hotel for the first two nights. Do the Northern Ireland thing till Tuesday. Wednesday we are staying at some castle and doing some falconry. Other than that it's scenic vista's for her and dark pubs for me. Only question I have is where can I get the best deal exchanging money? I know , I know credit cards get you the best rate but I am bringing some cash with me so I need to know where to exchange it.

Money orders worked well for me when I was there.

In my experience exchange rates suck compared to getting cash from a debit or credit card. Put the cash in your bank and use an ATM.

Other than that, hotels are worst, then banks and then the exchange at the airport. This is what I have found in Asia recently. Been a while since I have been to europe.

X2 on using the ATM

I feel like I practically grew up in Ireland, 2 to 4 weeks every other summer when I was young since both my folks were Irish immigrants. If you as far north as Belfast head up past Derry to the Inishowen peninsula, last of the real Ireland IMO and where my mom was from. My cousins husband runs a golf course in Ballyliffen if you are looking to play. Trying to remember the name of one of the passes that you should find and drive, i remember I was down to first gear to get around the corners and the top of the pass was literally one car wide.

Getting a car was always the plan. I have always wanted to see Belfast so we will probably go straight up there then work our way south. Jessica has some scenic stuff she wants to see and I don't think I will have a problem finding bars.
