I sent him a Defender radio and the flat-rate repair payment that he demanded in advance.
Foolishly I thought I had a friendly relationship with him until he informed me I was not to ever call him again and that he conducted all business via e-mail.
OK, fine, I'll patiently wait.
Eventually, he informed me he couldn't get parts for the unit right away. I patiently waited more. Finally, my client demanded his radio back and John refused to return it.
In the meantime, my client died.
I am out the cost of the flat-rate repair and never did get the radio back.
At one point, IIRC he threatened to send me video of his setting the unit afire.
EVERYONE other than Disco Mike that I've spoken with has had somewhat similar experiences. The best I've heard were that he took forever to return their "repaired" radios.
