A few years ago there was a post on here about some Jugglette who go arrested with crack in her vag. My and my brother have come up with a scientific law that has not been disproved as of yet.

If you have a ICP tattoo you have never held a job for more than three months in a row.

For most of them 3 days is a long time. There was Juggulo here in town who got arrested for posting a rap where he threatened all the cops in town by name and tried to get people to join his gang by "hitting him up on myspace" His website claimed he was a CEO of his own record label but he must be multi talented because we saw him working at burger king (and thus we quit eatting at burger king)

I watched some of this last night and thought about it for a bit. Of course, you have the first impression which is that these are life's losers and all of the typical thoughts presented here in this thread.

Then it dawned on me that there is a bit of genius to the ICP. I'll admit that I've never listened to any of their music. My only exposure to them was from an interview that Howard Stern did with them years ago. Whether by design or not, they've created a hugely loyal fan base that is made up of people that by their own admission are outcasts. This group of people makes them feel normal, which is a deep human desire. I'm sure that for many of them the feeling of family is more important than the music itself.

Mike, there definitely is. ICP are master marketers. As you noted, they built a family of outcasts. Once that was done, like Mel Brooks said in Spaceballs, it's moichendising, moichendising, moichendising. They invented a mythology to sell a whole series of albums to their fans, they sell the t-shirts, the emblems on the neck chains, the annual gatherings, the wresting league...they've made a mint off these kids.

Holy schnikies! They are more clever than I thought. They took the Divine Comedy and turned it into a religion that could relate to outcasts. They are most definitely master marketers.
