put them up against the truck, mark them with a paint marker, then cut, then get a nice 5" flap disc sander and complete. use bmw radiator fan shroud plastic rivets, with #10 stainless screws, then finish the rear door/wheel arch off with some door or trunk molding from a bmw trunk. as for the holes in the fenders and quarters/rear door use a 5/16" drill bit, the bmw rivets fit perfect when you use a #10 screw. as always, measure once and cut twice!

Cool. I was going to email you. How much Didnyou cut from the wheel arch opening? Im trying to decide what i want to do. I need some wheel spacers as the tire is getting into the shock tower....... But with spacers it hits the fender.

i cut as much out as possible, i just held the flare up to the truck, used a white paint marker, cut, then sanded until it fit.

i went with the small 2" ones.... i dont think 4D's are in my plans.... yet

Is this for a DII? If so you will have some fun with the rear doors. I advise if indeed you are speaking of a DII that you beat and bend the steel in the rear doors together and weld and seam seal them. That is what I did and have no issues with rust etc. Also you should cut bigger drain holes at the bottom.

Cheers,

Mike

edit: also on the inner rear wheel arches I cut them and then put some "door edge protector" on the edges. That keeps anyone getting in there from cutting themselves on the metal edge. Also under coat or wayoil all that cut on and beat on metal.

Yes d2. I do not need to cut into the rear door as i am not hitting it when fully stuffed, only behind the rear wheel. But if i get spacers it will hit more around the well. The front is perfectmy main problem area.

When you mock up the flares for cutting you might be in for a surprise. I don't know how you could put on flexi flares without cutting the rear doors.

Cheers,

Mike

Post up some pics when you're done. I'm going to 35s this summer and am seriously thinking about the flares also. Thanks.

definitely.
My axles are about 2" further forwards and backwards than stock though too.
