Update: had the muffler cut out this morning, and I'm happy with how it turned out. Burbles at idle and doesn't start getting loud til you get over 2200 RPM. Pretty peaceful driving 45-50 around town, frankly. It'll emit a faint pop or two if you rev it up to 3k then let off the gas. I like it.

Haven't taken it on the interstate yet. I usually do like 65-70 on the interstate, much faster than that and I can watch the gas gauge drop

All I hear at those speeds with my magnaflow 11226 is wind, and TC whine. Now if I step on it to pass or accelerate then you hear it. Seems loudest to me around 45-55MPH and just under 2500RPM's.

On my 98 D1 the muffler rotted off recently. Went to advanced auto and found an aftermarket turbo muffler. Upon making a couple trips and measurements, I was able to buy the generic exhaust fittings, pipes, clamps, etc to install the turbo muffler. My resonator was removed years ago.

With less than $60, I installed the turbo muffler. It sounds great. Not too loud, no drone at any speed, and sounds like a V8. I could not be happier with the cheap bastard fix.
