Trevor,

If he is still in the hospital, my fiancée and I would like to make a trip to UVA to see him after the new year and take him a toy or two.

Would also be happy to deliver anything else in person that people might want to send.

EDIT: even if he isn't in the hospital any longer, we could still visit and take some things.

He is going home tonight, but is on numerous antibiotics and will probably be back at UVA after Christmas. It was important to him to be home for Christmas. Absolutely come up and see him. He lives about 10 minutes off the 136 exit from I64.

Paypal has locked the account. Not sure what the problem is as they won't tell me and want me to tell them what i'm going to do to fix the issue first. I think it was probably the raffle. I'll deal with it tomorrow and update...

oh crap, gambling and paypal are a no no. If the raffle isn't to far along probably best to cancel it and restart not involving paypal.

From paypal:

What gambling activities does PayPal prohibit?

Question :
Answer :
PayPal prohibits transactions for gambling activities by merchants and account holders in the U.S. and any jurisdiction where gambling activities are illegal, and by merchants whose services are accessible to account holders in the U.S.

PayPal allows approved gambling merchants to use our service in certain jurisdictions where gambling activities are legal. To be approved by PayPal, merchants must demonstrate to PayPal's satisfaction that they have the ability to block gambling activities for account holders in the U.S. and any jurisdiction where gambling activities may be illegal.

Unless the merchant has been approved by PayPal, account holders may not use PayPal to send or receive payments for any form of gambling activities, including but not limited to payments for wagers, gambling debts, and gambling winnings, whether conducted online, in person, or through any other means of communication. Gambling includes placing, accepting, recording, or registering bets; participating in lotteries; or otherwise carrying on a game of chance for money, property, or other things of value.

PayPal prohibits the following activities, even where the specific activity is lawful and/or is not legally defined as gambling, unless the transactions are associated with an approved merchant.

Lottery tickets ?Include the purchase or sale of any opportunity to participate in a raffle, drawing, sweepstake, pool, or any other form of game or contest involving the distribution of prizes or monetary compensation.

This account is likely going to stay frozen a while. Best bet might be to refund anyone who paid in under the raffle deal and hope a pray paypal doesn't take 6 months to let the money go.

Ok, it's the raffle and it is canceled until further notice. The funds are now available so i'm going to get nicholas' mother to hurry up and link her bank account or request a check just incase they change their mind. Paypal says that if I do it again then the account will not be available. They also say they were responding to a complaint in regards to the firearm involved. So it would appear someone that may not like me personally filed the complaint, which sucks.

That does suck. I was actually going to enter the raffle too. Would've done it sooner if it had been for an M4. :p

Glad to hear that the funds are available again, hope that this can do some good. ....now the question is, what the heck to do with the rifle?

I don't know, but it sure as shit wasn't me. I'm absolutely pro-gun and very much in favor of bending rules to help those in need.
