Other than driving 2000 miles... what else did you do to reset them? I read somewhere about a specific driving pattern that is supposed to reset them... don't know how true it was but a few people said they had success with it. I will try to search for it...in the meantime, maybe someone else knows it and will post.

Not sure what you mean. I have not been able to reset them. I did however, take it to RoverLand (my loval rover mechanic) who hooked it up to check for codes.

HISTORY:
It had set off the check engine light due to the Pass O2 sensor. It did not show any actual fault with it, just a "caution"? We reset the comp and have not had any problems since.

We drove it for 2 months and put the 2,000 since the "reset".

read somewhere about a specific driving pattern that is supposed to reset them... don't know how true it was but a few people said they had success with it.

If so, that would be great. I have done various driving such as freeway, city and offroad to get it to work. NOTHING SO FAR!!

Anyone else have this probblem?

I am going through the same thing-- I have an Aug 06 sticker on my plate... 1 week to go...

I read somewhere that the evaporative emissions system performs its test by leaving the car idle for 30 mins without moving. The sloshing gas alters the results, so the test will not occur if the vehicle is moving.

I'm not sure about that. My certified Rover Mechanic for 20+ years, mentioned another that had the same problem. They drove it with the comp hook up for 60 + miles till it reset itself.

I think its just the opposite. Someone can correct me if im wrong, but the rovers should only take between 30 to 70 miles to reset. Ive done over 2k!

UPDATE:

Just took it in and still showing the three systems "NOT READY"!
I have since the last test put on 1,200 miles. Still no codes.

What do you do? Replace the Computer, O2 sensor and every other sensor connected to the Evap, Catalyst and O2 systems????

I am going through this as well. Went through it 2 years ago and finally got it down to 2 which was a pass. Now I started with 4 catalyst, o2, o2 heater, and evap. I put in 2 new Pre cat o2s and did they idle in neutral with defrosts on as mentioned somewhere here. I am now down to 3, 02, heated O2 and evap. Man this is killing me especially with no codes

You must be in a non-green state! The not ready messages are from the state emmissions computer read outs. Although they are stored in the OBD II systems themselves. I am sure Rovacom or test book has this information, I am trying to find an inexpensive OBD II software which will show them, I hate going into emmissions not knowing.

You should get them after clearing any fault code, clearing codes will reset them to not ready until they test out through drive cycles or other self testing, or in my case maybe never.

I know, 2 years ago I had to pay for emmissions 2x and carfax shows a failed emmissions, and now I have 2 weeks left to clear before I need to pay for another emmissions. Let alone how much gas I am wasting trying to compete the damn OBD II self tests.

MAC TOOLS sells an OBDII code reader that also supports readiness test, it sells for $59.99 part #ET50 (www.mactools.com or 1-800-mactools). I have one that I use for this exact reason on my 96 DI. As for as getting the truck to pass emissions testing there are specific drive cycles that have to be completed. There was a post on here a few weeks back that had them listed.
