i can't figure out why you would remove the analog gauges, hack together a screen in their place, and then reinstall the analog gauges on the center console. It gets worse the longer you look at it.
Hell, who can forget KVT.....
Wow. At the time it seemed like he vanished off the surface of the Earth.
He does it all, including take your money and run.
A true classic and by far my favorite movie.Brick Top: "You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes."
The second set of analog gauges is clearly a fail safe backup. Shit looks like a cheap trashed motel room, which has seen its share of action, with every occupant being a chain smoker.i can't figure out why you would remove the analog gauges, hack together a screen in their place, and then reinstall the analog gauges on the center console.
oh, and then install a second set of analog gauges in place of the sun visor.
Thanks man , heading out this weekend!I spent 9 months up north when I was in the Norwegian coastal artillery. Technically Navy, but we never left land. Make sure you catch the changing of the guards at the royal castle in Oslo, it's daily at 13:30. In Oslo, you can visit Akershus Castle, https://kultur.forsvaret.no/museer/akershus-slott/akershus-castle The Home resistance museum covering the German occupation during WW2 is also there. All tourists also want to see the Viking ships, but the Viking ship museum is closed for construction at the moment. The Vigeland Park is also nice, but maybe not so much in the winter. You can visit the National art museum and look for pictures by TH. Kittelesen, though. He was my grandfathers uncle. https://www.nasjonalmuseet.no/en/
I also like this one: https://www.tekniskmuseum.no/english
I only went to Tromsø once when I was in the military, so I don't know what to recommend there except for Ishavskatedralen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Cathedral
Up north you will not have much daylight at the time you are going, so there should be a good chance of seeing the northern lights.
Have a great trip!
Unfortunately Thom passed away around 2015 from a sudden brain aneurysm.Thom (Muskyman) is definitely off line... Most of the others are still around.
Ditto, private for me even though I'm apparently and "old timer". Maybe someone will tell me the secrect knock to gain access....I see where it's at but it says private, no access. Likely because I'm new with no authority! And quite possibly I've got some stuff in there being laughed at haha. Who knows.
I stopped daily driving a Rover (thank God), got busy with my kids sports, and went back to school. Last time I wheeled my D1 was 2017. Camped out of my Sequoia for 2wks in Colorado though in 2022. Maybe I'll get the D1 back on the road this year.......maybe.I happened upon that Members by Post Count and the "Staff members" list and it struck me how few still post. It got me wondering how many just lurk, still own LRs, wheel other brands instead, gave up off-roading, etc. I bet a good slice of the pie chart has moved to social media, but I personally don't see the appeal.
Wanna hear about old timers?
I had a fucking stroke last Wednesday! I'm 52 fucking years old!
My God I've been poked, prodded, stuck, and scanned from my head to my toes. Good to know that all looks good, except for a small spot on my left frontal lobe that was starved of O2 for a few minutes on Wednesday. Fortunately a 100% recovery, no lasting effects. It affected my right foot and leg for a little while twice last Wednesday. I was out drilling and sampling and characterizing soil samples in the back of the LR4 and my right leg just turned off around 8:30 AM. I called the driller over to watch me and we talked for a few minutes and all went back to normal. Finished the job, took my samples to the labs, stopped by the local watering hole for a beer, then on the way home my right leg felt weird again. Got home, grabbed the wife, and hit the ER right away at about 2:30. Kept me for a few days and found a little stroke action up there. No idea why, everything else is normal. Fucked up shit man!
