i just got out of a two hour meeting outlining the restructuring of my company.

the short end of it is a 10% paycut and no more medical benefit offset...

equates to about a $9000 a year paycut....
have to admit, that my ass is a little sore from that reaming :(

just thought i'd share, in hopes of a little luv from the rover bretheren.

i think i need a beer now

Marc, do as Ron says. I'm an independent consultant and have gone thru fat and lean times, out of work times with no unemploymentand no benefits just living off savings. So it sucks to take that kind of a paycut, but it could have been worse. It may serve as motivation to look for work at a more successful place.

Them sons a bitches! I feel your pain. At least it wasn't one of those 100% paycuts. You always have selling "bodily fluids" to fall back on.

If I took a $9,000 pay cut I'd be making $3,500 a year.

Pay your taxes folks--I gotta feed the wife and the Disco.

the irony of this comment, is that yesterday i was BSin' with Bill (GBR)
and we joked about me dodging the layoff...knowing the paycut was on the rise, with that, i bought an ARB freezer

no, a collection isn't necessary,
and "Malt liquor", i'm not homeless (at least not yet)

i've had plenty of self-employment to make me appreciate being just another cog in the machine, yeah it sucks, but for now i like to just punch in and out, and leave work at the door (at least until the little ones are older)

Marc, I feel your pain. Sucks is such a mild word to describe the way a person feels when their employer "takes away" a portion of their livelihood. They cut my pay in May, and "had to let me go" in August. After 7 1/2 years, I guess I was standing in the way of progress. I have a new job now, less stress, less hours, same pay BEFORE pay cut. I can't complain, but I do have to question how "Corporate America" can expect workers to give years of their lives, keep a good attitude, in exchange for a minute "Slice of the Pie" that seems to have a larger bite gone out of it every time they "Serve" it to you! Sorry for the long post, but I had to vent on this one. Good Luck! LRW.

Marc, I am VERY sorry. I'd be glad I didn't lose my job, and then start looking for a new one-- one with my PRE-paycut salary.

LRW, that is the FUNNIEST signature I've read yet.
