I just did mine with the autozone special. the wrench part was a bit looser that I would like but it didnt strip out the nut at all. crows foot locks down between the bolts on the pulley. Easy.

Just called the local Autozone about the kit. They don't sell it but do have it as a loaner. It has a 36mm and a 57mm.

I asked them if I could buy it and they said no. I asked what happened if I didn't return it. They told me I would lose my $25.00 deposit. That's right $25.00. Had they told me that sunday I would have a kit and not a homemade wrench.

If this is for your '94...or the DII... when standing infront of the radiator, looking aft and looking at the engine, you need to rotate the nut CCW to loosen. Right hand threads

It's for the DII. I sold the DI to a guy who put on 33 boggers and a homemade lift.

It's hidden in a very tiny footnote in the Bible, but The Word clearly states that using adjustable wrenches is punishable by not quite eternal damnation.

They've got the devil in them.

I got a wrench set from Autozone today. The 36mm fits fine but the other wrench is 57mm and too small.:banghead: How big should the second wrench be?

Finally got the fan off.:victory:

I had to remove the ac pump and the power steering pump and the bracket for both. I then clamped a set of vice grips onto the pulley. I then used the 36mm loaner wrench with a 1/2 inch ratchet fitted into the square hole in the end. I then added pressure until the big BANG! It put a small dent in the coolant pipe and chewed up the pulley a bit. It also dentented the pulley. I pounded it back flat and used a die grinder to smooth it all up.

While taking the high pressure line off of the pump the nut broke loose suddenly with a lot of torque applied. My left hand hit something and slammed my pinkie finger into something sharp. Looks like a 1/16 deep cut for 3/8 between the knuckle and nail on the bottom side. Looks like I'm done for today.:banghead:
