"Complaints here don't equal me doing nothing"

So far, complaints registered by telephone and email have resulted in the same response, "nothing".

People bitch when they feel they've not been treated fairly and your response is threats? Let the buyer beware! :(

And YES , if the others that were posting in the thread want to chime in and start flapping along with Luke I will cut them off as well.
Something was posted on a site that I admin.

Well, I'm speechless at your response. I hope the owner of this site, whoever that is, has the integrity to ban you first.

That is all.

Luke , your "Customer service" involves you sitting on your ass and posting here all day. Dont give me the "Fortune 500" bullshit . (Been there done that too). Thats large quantities of office workers sitting on thier ass surfing the web. Run the buisness you simply work at right now and run it alone actually having to get bloody. Then get back to me. Until then... Just shut up , you have no idea what you are talking about (As ussual) .

LOL - Really ? I'm glad you know my business and our client list so well, Kyle. Please...YOUR business, however, is public knowledge - as are your clients and how you treat them.
I could never, ever handle the workload that my office gets. I'm smart enough to realize that, hence the reason I have 3 other individuals working with me in my office, not to mention the other 137 developers programmers etc in other offices across the country. But as far as my office goes, it's just a few people that know how to GET IT DONE. We are HARDLY "large quantities of office workers sitting on thier ass surfing the web". That, apparently, is your business :D
Perhaps you should pay a little more attention to your customers and little less time to this inconsequential box I'm typing in.

Luke , thats exactly what you do... You stare at a box all day... You would like to think that what I do is public knowledge but that was kind of my point... About 5 % of it is from here and gets talked about here. Thats about all you know of it.. Seems thats about all you know of anything to be honest.

James , you are such a wise man....

I think the problem is most of these orders were placed before the 2 months kyle had personal isssues. So basically they should have been shipped out way before. or am i missing something?

I'm not sure you're still here to read this or not, but just so you know, Kyle IS one of the three owners of d-web. If I remember correctly, he's the one that's actually in possession of the server/brain.

actually, according to information in public domain, ho chung owns the discoweb.org name and is the tech, so he is in control of the server. don't believe me though,

Kevin,

Garrets point was that you are only partially correct despite the Whois lookup and what Ho, Ax, and Kyle decided to enter into the Whois records for public view, and that what you are shown in those records is not always the full picture, as is the case here. Ax, Ho and Kyle are the 3 owners of Discoweb.org LLC which owns the site. Its also pretty much commonly known to those that have been here long enough and/or pay attention, that Kyle is the one that builds, maintains and administrates the the physical server.

How could it be common knowledge to those who frequent here? The guy disappeared for the last three months (last post prior to this thread 7/27)- doesn't show a lot of ownership or pride in his (online) work. Why are you sticking up for this guy?

I think "been around long enough" and "pay attention" were the gist of what Chris was trying to say.....

But here is a recap, in case you are interested:

The DiscoWeb.org website was started back in 1999 by Ho, Kyle, myself and Paul Morrison, because we wanted a website to go along with the lr-discovery yahoo list Paul had started a few months earlier, after somebody complained on the Rovers North BBS that no Discovery specific list existed. About a year or so later Paul sold his Disco, and decided to pursue other interests.

In 2001, we decided to start selling stickers and videos to offset hosting costs. Tshirts have also been sold on and off. Since this involved actual cash transactions, we created DiscoWeb LLC, a legal entity registered in New Jersey. The 3 registered owners of DiscoWeb LLC is Ho, Kyle and myself. DiscoWeb LLC has it's own bank acount, collects salestax on items sold in New Jersey as the law requires, and file the required tax returns. This is perhaps overkill for the level of revenue we are talking about here , but it's by the book.

Over the years as traffic grew, we have gone through many hosting solutions, from renting space on a server to the current solotion where we are on a server owned by DiscoWeb LLC, colocated with Defender Hosting in their datacenter in Virginia. This server was built, and is maintained by Kyle. He must be doing something right, since you are able to read this post.

Ho is the webmaster, and handles day to day updates to the site. I handle orders through the Dweb store, create the videos sold there, occasional web updates, keep the books and file tax returns. This division of responsibility have worked pretty well over the years.

A few years ago, Ho decided to start Expedition Exchange with John Lee. This is a separate operation from DiscoWeb LLC. EE does not sponsor DiscoWeb or cover any of the operating costs. Contrary to popular belief, John Lee does not, nor did he ever own any part of DiscoWeb. EE did decide to carry the DiscoWeb video collection in their inventory, but this does not make them any more connected to DiscoWeb than they are to any of the other companies who's product they carry.

A while back (search the archives) Kyle (being an accomplished fabricator) designed and built a bumper for his Discovery. He also built a few for friends. I have one of the early models. Seing pictures of this bumper in some posts here, people started contacting him to build one for them, too. Eventually he also built himself a half rack (now known as the Backpack rack), and some other accessories. Realizing that there seemed to be a demand for his product, Kyle started the Roversolutions.com website by himself. Again, just like EE, this is a separate operation from DiscoWeb LLC. Roversolutions does not sponsor Discoweb, or vice versa.

Since DiscoWeb.org is a Land Rover oriented site there will be mention of Roversolutions and EE here, just like you may find posts about them on other Rover sites. This does not mean that DiscoWeb, EE and Roversolutions are one and the same.

There you have it, there is no big secret here.

Not to get off topic here...not that we really have over the past 15 pages of posts...

Axel - thanks for clearing up some stuff I've been wondering about since the day I joined Dweb. One question...I joined the lr-discovery Yahoo! group the other day, although it looks like anything I could get there I could get here. I noticed a banner for Dweb videos on their main page, and a sort of "ad" (of the type that is usually tacked onto the end of web-based emails) at the bottom of some posts. Has the tie between Dweb and the group stayed after this time?

Okay...keep yelling at each other. I'll go back to just reading this thread.
