To whoever fits the shoe.

You know, everybody seems to put their two cents in, I am not allowed to post my opinion. I guess I am just the parts whipping boy??? EHH??

I don't think anyone said you can't post your opinion.

I happen to think you are probably mostly right. I just don't think it matters much.

While it's clear that something (maybe just obligations catching up with him) is putting more pressure on Kyle right now than in months past, it's also obvious that this isn't a new problem. Communication and delivering product seem to be problems that he has had with number of people, and with some of them, it's been an extreme problem. I think many of us here are just not convinced that we should consider this situation to be outside his control.

I am hoping that he'll eventually do the right thing for everyone here. But at some point, doing the right thing is no longer something you get points for... it's just something you eventually have to do.

Oh, and yes, the Yellow Freight shipping bill for the rack-minus-brackets arrived. $266.17.

Did it give a breakdown of the charges? Did KVT send it LTL-Express or standard service?

It doesn't look to me like it was express. I posted a breakdown of the shipping label a little earlier, but here's the info from the invoice itself.

In the header:
Service Charge Invoiced
Standard Ground
Amount Due: $266.17

Shipment date: 10/24/05
Charges: COLLECT
Credit Terms: NET 15 DAYS
Delivery Date: 10/31/05

I'm attaching an image of the itemization section, because I don't know how to type in a table in this forum.

It basically breaks down to: $196 for shipping, $27 COD fee, and $44 'fuel surcharge' (which to me is a plain and simple gouge, because I don't for a minute believe their fuel costs have gone up that much... it's just a way to add a hidden charge).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but while I can complain about the cost of shipping in general, I don't see anything here that should be blamed on KVT.

Except that I still don't have all of the parts, but that's a different issue.

I ship a lot of product from Coast to Coast, but it sound about the right price to me??

I just shipped two 350lb doors via Fed Ex freight from Los Angeles to Vail for $550.00.

Could be comparing apples to oranges...

Oh but wait, when I had my Hannibal rack shipped from the east coast via Fed Ex Freight it was only $145...

I have to apologize to anyone in this thread that has a complaint. Its been rough doing this by myself and recently some personal issues here have had me somewhat paralyzed .
Everyone that is due something will get it in short order. I am not screwing anyone on anything and everyone will recieve more then what they ordered for compensation.

Again , I sincerely apologize for how slow I have been.

David , the rest of your stuff will be out to you by weeks end..

261.00 is about what the big racks have been costing from MD to CA so 266.00 to Oregon is about right.

Hey Kyle,

If you want to check shipping or anyone else want to try using www.freight101.com . We use them consistantly to ship, always cheaper than anybody else. They quote best rates from about 30 major trucking companies.
Take care buddy.

Best Personal Regards,

John Miller

This really has to do with the contract that each MFG company has with the shipping company. Some get really good discount, but if you ship things personally it will cost a lot.

Wow. KVT's Back. ! It must be hard to come back after all these threads. Lots of people would just hide. But Kyle came back. Makes me change of the way I started to think about him. :p

Thanks for stepping up Kyle.
It's about time, sounds like it will get resolved, and don't stir the pot.

Takes a big guy to stand up and admit he's wrong when a crowd is throwing stones at you.

So the guy comes back, 308 posts and almost a month later, apologizes and all is well ???? Hey, I'm sure Kyle will stand by his word and make everyone whole. But why wait this long to communicate your problems to customers who have apparently been trying to get a hold of you for months ? Is returning emails that difficult ? I see no reason why anyone should be commended or admired for coming here and apologizing after leaving customers out to dry.

I wish Kyle the best- sometimes life can get in the way of obligations and the details aren't anyone's business (although they think it is).
When things get 'normal' I'd be interested in one of them fancypants racks...

Excellent, Kyle. Thank you for stepping up and answering here.

I'm very happy to hear that you're going to get everything caught up. I know that it takes a lot of work to catch up when you've been behind and I wish you luck.

Agro1: I hear where you are coming from, and you're not wrong. At the moment, he's just popped up and made an apology and promised to get things sorted out. But to me, that's worth some breathing room to follow through with it. I wish he had done that much earlier, but I've been buried in problems before, and you can get to a place where you don't do anything because you just don't see how you can ever make a dent. The last thing you want to do is talk to the people who are angry with you. But it's the first thing you need to do.

If he doesn't follow through, I'm sure everyone will go for his jugular and that will be that. But right now, he's spoken up and done the first thing we need from him, so let's give him some room to make the rest of it good.
