.
I had a heart attack this summer, and when he shot his first deer a few weeks ago, he wounded it.
This is the start of a bad situation.
We tracked it about a mile into the bush
This tells me you have no idea about tracking deer. To track a deer about a mile either means a non fatal hit or a gutshot deer that was pushed prematurely.
I sent him back for the quad.
You seperated. Not good. You did not even find the deer first. A man with a history of heart problems should not be alone in the bush anymore than a young kid.
He not only found his way to the quad and back, he also told me all of his back up plans and what he would do if something happened to me while I was in the bush and he was gone.
You seem suprised. He could do NOTHING for you you while you were in the bush and he was gone. He would have found you much too late to help.
We were both beat, so I guess he was worried. He's a tough, smart kid and I'm pretty proud of him.
You should be proud of him. He was worried because you did not make good decisions and he was able to put that aside and still function the correct way in a difficult situation.
He'll be fine and will be just as adventurous as I am. Maybe more so. If we only went to safe places, we'd miss all the best hunting and fishing.
Thankfully it worked out this time. What about the next time. I hope he is prepared because you are not.
