After pulling off and filling the tank with gas, I got back on Hwy 101 and just after pulling into the left lane for stop and go traffic, the engine died. I was able to get over to the shoulder, and the car would restart but immediately stumble and die.
While waiting for the tow, and letting the truck sit for 10 minutes I tried to restart and it did run for about 2 minutes before stumbling and dying again.
So, it's now sitting at a shop that a co-worker recomended, but I've never used.
Of course I have no idea what is the issue but I feel like maybe the fuel pump, or fuel pump relay?
One other thing to note. I recently had the fan clutch go out (and have been driving with extreme fan roar), and have read here that it can burn up the water pump if not changed. I have not experienced any over heating, so I'm unsure if these two things are related.
So while I wait for the verdict from a new mechanic, can anyone give me their thoughts on what they think I'll hear?
