Has anyone seen or used these inclinometers?? I want something that looks a little more "matched" to the interior of my disco. The lev-o-gauge is probably the simplest ones but im all about options and something with a little cleaner look. I would be routing the power wire somewhere so it would be as hidden as possible. Thanks for any advice!! FYI: if it has the word *eep written anywhere on it, it wil get thrown in the trash can and written off as a loss!!

come on, only 40 degrees side to side, the trucks are rated to 45. Don't even get me started on front to back. That must be for the conservative off roader.

I used to use one on my Jeep but side angles werent as big a deal as they are in the Landrover. I would say its just a gadget that is 80% useless and uneccesary.

If your but puckers, its a good indication you need to back off. They make larger and much nicer inclinometers that if you are legitamitely going to use can be seen at a quick glance unlike this one.

Garret, after reading your bio on your website,,, im just gonna throw the idea of this thing out of the window... I just needed to hear it from someone else. Im always looking for little gadgets that might help out and not cost a ton of money!! I ll save the money for the next maintanance needed for my dII. thanks to all!!

the only real purpose i see for them is in having people understand what 35-40 degrees of sideslope feels like in the seat of your pants.

99% of the time your natural instinct will kick in and let you know what the limits are and you don't need one of these things on your dash to tell you that.

but other than having it as a novelty item on your dash, it's really not worth it.

put the money into buying Jim Allen's book, Four Wheeler's Bible. that's the best bang for your buck. buy some good recovery gear, then go out with a buddy and have fun.

LOL, I think an inclinometer would be as valuable on my toolbox as it would be on my truck. If all four wheels are on the ground, I'm OK. If one wheel is off the ground, it's almost too far. If two wheels are off the ground, it might be too far. When those two wheels are spinning in the air, it was too far.

Flop once and you'll know just how far you can go.

I bought the ones from Atlantic British. I have them for both directions. I like to know exactly how much leighway I have and not just a seat of the pants feeling. That's like saying "I don't need a gas guage, I just watch my mileage and that's good enoug".

the guage is just that. all situations are different and to think some trinket on your dash will keep you safe.........go for it, but it won't. your DII is different than any of my trucks and mine are different than the next guys. to stick to any hard and fast numbers is ignorant. i'll trust myself before i do some gadget on my dash.

LOL...you should be listening to these guys...they (incline meters)are pretty much worthless

thinking a guage can help you out of a roll over is pretty short sighted, what you need to be doing is looking at the area around you so you can either turn up into the slope and stomp it or look down slope and keep moving and turn out of the roll. The guy sitting still looking at a guage is the guy that ends up flopped on his side.

"Oh dear Lord honey we are approaching 40 degrees. I think the guy at the dealer told me I could go a little further, but this feels awfully uncomfortable. Now what do I do?"

(wife) "Roll up the God damn windows Keefer........roll them up now damit!!!"

"I think the guy at the dealer said to steer uphill too if you feel the truck tipping downhill!??"

*FLOP*
