ARB (Safari) for $314.00

or

Mantec for $325.00

Any real differences in the two as far as performance. Only thing I'm worried about is hitting the ARB on a tree or something, has this been a problem?

Hey Danny. The Safari snorkel is pretty damn tough.
I wouldn't worry about breaking it. Check mine out sometime when you're around.

I have a friend that owns a mantec snorkel on a Disco II and the powder coating has "flaked" and it is rusting in just three years.

The Safari kit is much better and quicker to install, and although the body of the snorkel is external to the front wing it is low profile and if you were to pull it off rubbing against a tree, the chances are you would have smashed your front wing anyway.

Mantec, smooth/clean/ almost hidden and looks the part, Mine is nearly 2 yrs old, lots of trees and eastern pa salty winters, NO rust or flaking
Just look at the pics, Do you want, Look how cool i am with my snorkel
or, quiet and strong looking!
Just my 5$ vote!

Just don't go to Minnesota with it- they are banning snorkels on vehicles.
I scoffed at the looks of the Mantec, but once I got one I was sold on the sturdiness- no finish problems either. My Disco has a Roca Silva on it- most people don't even notice it has a snorkel.

where i'm at right now, duh...
I just don't like the way the ARB runs all the way down the side of the truck. It just doesn't look right to me. The Mantec on the other hand looks cleaner, and is less noticable.

I guess if you want everyone to see that you have a snorkel, then get the ARB.

Well do you want the snorkel just to look hardcore? Or are you going to seriously prep your ECU and associated electronics to make the snorkel functional?

Too many snorkel poseurs driving around...

Steve, Is Roca still making that snorkel? Last I heard he was not doing them anymore (could be hearsay). I kinda dig that look, and it's different. How does it work? Why did you ditch the one on your Freebie?

I really don't care much on the looks. I tend to put function over form, in most cases. I don't think either the ARB or Mantec snorkels look bad, but is one more functional than the other?

snorkels aint just for water.
far more utlity gained in minimizing the dust your engine sucks in.

koby is dead on. The ARB looks like it's oozing up the side of your truck. plus it doesn't hold up too well if you're clever enough to put your truck on it's side or into some obstacle:
